"Edit source" is a problem for making changes in the text. Why can we have access to the "Edit" funcion? Thanks--Postaire (talk) 17:44, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Check you Preferences. Go to the "Editing" panel, and look about 3/4 of the way down for the field "Editing mode". Select the choice, "Show me both editing modes" , and then save .
You can also always get to the visual editor by going to the top right of the edit window, clicking on the pencil, and changing to visual editing. . But note the visual editor only works on article pages, not talk pages. Additionally, for fixing up bad references it is sometimes more practical to use the source editor. The visual editor is supposed to be able to handle this, but it does not handle it well. It does work fine for adding new references.
I hope this helps. DGG ( talk ) 05:04, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
