disambiguations

[edit]

One of the three meanings for pageant' redirects here but pageant and procession are not the same thing. Pageant needs its own page. Morganfitzp 06:38, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I came here looking for the astronomical definition. This page needs a disambiguation. --Savant13 (talk) 15:20, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article also should compare and contrast procession with parade and particularly with cavalcade. --Una Smith (talk) 03:46, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Funeral procession

[edit]

Shouldn't funeral processions also be mentioned in this article? Rubenescio (talk) 11:02, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Religious vs. Secular procession

[edit]

The article could do more to bettter distinguish between secular and religious processions, since the current article does not really make that distinction so obvious. Of course, any kind of popular street parade can be a processsion, but it is only religious if it is somehow related to the ritual and liturgical traditions of a given Church or sect. May processions

[edit]

There could perhaps be a stub article on the topic of May processions, which were popular Marian celebrations before the time of the Second Vatican Council. [1] ADM (talk) 19:17, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

[edit]

It is proposed that Crucession should be merged into Procession#Eastern Orthodox; see discussion at Talk:Crucession#Merge proposal 2. Vincent J. Lipsio (talk) 14:16, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

5 weeks have passed and no one has commented — When my time permits, if there are still no comments, I'll proceed with the merger.

Image problem

[edit]
The Škofja Loka Passion Play is a revived Baroque Passion procession from Škofja Loka, Slovenia. It is shaped as a play and represents stories from the life of Jesus.

This image displays correctly in preview but apparently only as text in the article.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 11:00, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
