Hi,

[edit]

My name is Fatima and I'm a first year student at University of Toronto at Mississauga. I'm writing to request permission to edit this Wikipedia article. I couldn't help but consider this topic as I listen to Q on CBC Radio 1 quite frequently. I have been assigned the task of adding a contribution to a Wikipedia stub for my CCT110 (The Rhetoric of Interactive Digital Interactive Media Technologies) class.

I would really appreciate it if you would allow me to take part in this article as this assignment is worth 15% of my final grade.

Thanks in advance for your time. Kind regards,

Well, for starters, this article isn't a stub. A stub is an extremely short article, often little more than two or three lines in length, that has one or more Category:Stub templates on it. You might find some stub articles in Category:CBC Radio One programs, if that's an area of interest for you, but since this article isn't a stub editing it wouldn't fulfill your assignment as you describe it.
And secondly, the article isn't protected in the first place, so there's no permission that anybody needs to give you — while I obviously wouldn't recommend abusing your privileges, you already have the ability to just walk right in and contribute an edit to nearly any article on Wikipedia without needing any special permission first. If and when there's a page that you can't edit, it'll tell you when you try — and it won't mean that you've personally done anything wrong, it'll just mean that edit privileges on that page have been temporarily restricted due to somebody else's problematic behaviour.
