Over-linking to blog articles

[edit]

The page currently has many links to Amster's blog posts. I propose these are removed where a single link to his blog profile (such as http://www.huffingtonpost.com/randall-amster) is available or already included. Any reader can find all of his blog posts by going to the profile page. This seems a much better interpretation of WP:NOTDIRECTORY or WP:ELNO. If there are key articles that illuminate passages in the body of the article, then these would be better used as in-line citations rather than as a separate list of blog posts. It should be noted that facts about Amster should be supported by independent publications in accordance with the guidance of self-published sources, consequently over-reliance on his own blog posts makes for a poor article in a Wikipedia sense...—Ash (talk) 08:27, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well-taken point -- I have removed articles in favor of profile link. Blog posts do not seem to be involved much with supporting text of the main entry itself. References seem to rely on mostly external sources. Should references to articles that are listed in the bibliography be removed as a way to streamline things a bit more? Thank you so much! I am learning. Almost done... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Peaceaz (talkcontribs) 23:41, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
