Disputing the speedy deletion[edit]

I made this page because I guess the old page had not correctly established notability and I suspect old arguments for deletion were based on a flawed article. I think it is substantially different from the deleted version.

The proposer of deletion argued that "Alleged books published are one that is just a conference publication (not a real book) and one without even an ISBN." I am not sure why editing a book of a conference is not recognized but his other book is a real book with an established publisher which has been reviewed in a peer reviewed journal and has an ISBN number. (Capitalist Restructuring and the Pacific Rim - Author: Ravi Palat - ISBN: 978-0-415-13074-5 - Routledge Studies in the Modern History of Asia. This alone would seem to me to be enough to pass the test.

He is a full Professor and the Sociology Department Chair at Binghamton Univ -SUNY. This is the leading department in his field - World Systems Theory and has associated with it it the world's leading scholars in this area. This alone would seem enough to me to pass the test.

He is on the editorial board of several journals.

He is also on the Board of the Fernand Braudel Center. (Msrasnw (talk) 20:28, 15 December 2009 (UTC))[reply]

This link [1] seems to me to show he is well cited. (Msrasnw (talk) 21:29, 15 December 2009 (UTC))[reply]

DGG's comments carry weight with me. I removed the speedy tags. Please re-list at AfD if need be, but he appears to pass WP:PROF by a wide margin - full professor, department chair, and his books are in 400 libraries. Bearian (talk) 01:53, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
