Einstein?[edit]

Einstein wasn't actually on the Manhattan Project, why would he have visited Red Gate Woods with Fermi during that period? He wouldn't have known about the site at all. --Mr.98 (talk) 15:31, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Argonne Woods? As an employee of Argonne National Laboratory, I learned that the original name of "Red Gate Woods" was "Argonne Woods." This forest preserve area was originally named in honor of the World War I battle in the Argonne Forest in France. American forces were an important part of this battle and had heavy losses.
