Dear Sir/Madam:

I am writing to ask your advice on how to fix the following situation. It has come to our attention that the UNEP logo and name are being inappropriately used in a Wikipedia article on Richard A. Hellman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_A._Hellman). Richard A. Hellman has been using UNEP's logo without our authorization, in violation of UN rules, and has been associating himself with a defunct group known as “Friends of UNEP” which has not existed for many decades. Through using this false affiliation, he has associated himself with UNEP while making statements that do not align with UNEP’s and the UN’s views. Since Richard A. Hellman is not authorized to use UNEP’s name and logo, or to claim, imply or suggest in any manner to represent UNEP or its views, we ask your help in removing the logo, and all references to "Friends of UNEP" from the Wikipedia article. I look forward to your advice. Many thanks and kind regards, Amy Fraenkel Regional Director United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) <redacted> — Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.105.109.178 (talk) 19:46, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir/Madam Mrs Amy Fraenkel wrote the above comment explaining that Mr. Richard Hellman has been associating himself with UNEP but it is a false affiliation and that he makes statements that do not align with UNEP's and the UN's views. She says that Mr Richard Hellman "is not authorized to use UNEP’s name and logo, or to claim, imply or suggest in any manner to represent UNEP or its views" and she asks your help "in removing the logo, and all references to "Friends of UNEP" from the Wikipedia article." You did took the logo and the reference "Friends of UNEP" which is the only connection Mr Hellman would have to UNEP but "has not existed for many decades" but you didn't notice that in the first line of the article the affiliation to UNEP is still mentioned even though Mrs Amy Fraenkel states that "Richard A. Hellman has been using UNEP's logo without our authorization, in violation of UN rules,". It is not understandable why Wikipedia didn't took out all the references to UNEP since it is clear that it is false. Many thanks and regards. --Justana (talk) 21:24, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
