time estimate

[edit]

I have removed an unsupported estimate that "The fire was relatively small for at least three minutes" while Purley attempted to right it. From the footage, widely available on youtube ( as here [1] ) it appears that only about 1:30 elapsed between the time Williamson's car came to a stop and Purley walked away from the burning car after his rescue attempt. Purley only spent 1:14 at the flaming car, according to this video. However, there is a camera change between the crash and Purley's egress from his car, so there may have been more time edited from the youtube footage. In any case, it seems most appropriate to leave the time estimate out until it can be verified. Tuckerekcut (talk) 22:27, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The following edits would suggest that the text was developed in Wikipedia, and copied by the external site:
  • [2] Addition of the phrase "During the race" before "Williamson suffered a sudden tyre deflation"
  • [3] Change from "Williamson participated in 2 grands prix, debuting on July 14, 1973. He scored 0 championship points." to "Williamson participated in 2 grands prix, debuting on July 14, 1973. He did not score any championship points."
