COI tag[edit]

We have a connected contributor working here. article needs to be reviewed by independent editors for NPOV etc before COI tag is removed. Pnican1 is a SPA, seems to have been used just to create this article and then tossed; sign of paid editing. Jytdog (talk) 12:47, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Note - I am copying the below from User talk:Dcluca22 as of this version of that page.

Edit request

Is it possible to edit the title of the page to "SDI Presence"? The company name changed from "SDI Solutions" to "SDI Presence." As can be seen in [1]

Replace "SDI Solutions LLC (commonly referred to as SDI) [1] is a systems integrator that provides technology-based professional services", with "SDI Presence LLC (commonly referred to as SDI, and previously named SDI Solutions LLC) [2] is a mission-critical systems integrator that delivers advanced technology systems, infrastructure and managed services for organizations with public-facing, critical operations

(Under the "Present" section)

In June 2016, founder David Gupta resumed his position as owner and CEO of SDI.[3] The firm rebranded itself as SDI Presence to reflect its core business principle of being present for its clients, employees and community.

SDI employs approximately 130 people[4] and has 3 offices nationwide. In addition to its Chicago headquarters, SDI is located in North Charleston, South Carolina and Los Angeles, California.[5]

The company currently secures and operates large-scale, complex infrastructure for a national portfolio of clients in the government, transportation, education, utilities, and real estate industries, including Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport [6] and Chicago Transit Authority. [7]

Partly done Hello! I'll partly fulfilled your request:
1) page move is now done.
2) I have declined your request to edit the lead section because I believe that the current version sounds more neutral than the version you have attached.
3)'The firm rebranded itself [...] to reflect [..]' - no, this is completely promotional and should be left out.

History

System Development Integration secured significant investments by private equity firms, LLR Partners and Monument Capital Group in 2012 to drive acquisitions.[7] In 2013, System Development Integration acquired two security integrators[8] in order to expand its security technology services business into the private sector.[9][10] The firm rebranded itself SDI Solutions, with all three entities merging into a single organization.

In 2015, SDI management changes brought new leadership [8] to the firm, along with increased focus on data management including data analytics and enterprise video content management systems [9] On June 1, 2016 PGV Solutions Midwest, LLC (wholly owned by David Gupta) completed the acquisition of assets and assumption of select liabilities from SDI Solutions.  Question: I'm not sure if you wanted me to explicitly say that they are no longer employed in the article. I think the current way is fine; it's better to say that someone else is now CEO, rather than simply stating someone is no longer employed. Can you just clarify what you want me to do with number two? --st170etalk 15:43, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Future edit requests should be made here in new sections below, so they are part of the record of the article. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 16:27, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Revision[edit]

I worked this over today and brought in the full story of the bankruptcy etc. We have to be careful dealing with requests from companies; it is not in their interest to discuss negative information, but we have to per WP:NPOV. Sometimes that means you have to go look for sources yourself. Jytdog (talk) 18:24, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Trib article[edit]

User:Dcluca22 please state your objection here. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 21:21, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In the article you referenced, it states "When his wife made the donation in December 2012, he was no longer an owner of the company as defined by city ordinance," she wrote. "...Therefore, the donation is not in violation of the executive order."Dcluca22 (talk) 21:27, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The exact content that is there, is fully supported by the source. The content says nothing about any violations of Emmanuel's policies nor election law or regulations. Please respond to the actual content. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 21:32, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Irrelevant. The fact that the writer concluded that the ethics ordinance was not violated results in an irrelevant article. Local politicians receive thousands of contributions. Dcluca22 (talk) 21:43, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The actual content is fully supported by the source, which is a very reliable source. You are not making an objection based on Wikipedia's policies and guidelines about content. Jytdog (talk) 21:45, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

COI issues[edit]

User:Jytdog "Dcluca22 (talk · contribs) has been paid by SDI Presence." Where is the source for this? Dcluca22 (talk) 21:29, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Would you please state the nature of your relationship with SDI? Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 21:32, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So there was no source, and it was posted anyway?Dcluca22 (talk) 21:40, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You have been making COI edit requests and your requests are obviously from the company's point of view. Please know that per the WP:PAID policy you must disclose - it is not optional. Please disclose your relationship with SD Presence. If you do not you are liable to be blocked from editing for violating this policy and the Terms of Use of Wikipedia. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 21:42, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

InternDcluca22 (talk) 21:45, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Are you volunteering or is that a paid position? It doesn't matter either way - you have been doing the right thing by making COI edit requests and you will be able to continue doing that, either way. You raised a question of whether the tag is correct, and the answer will allow us to keep it or use the other one. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 21:48, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So to go about edits the way I had been is the best way? Thanks. Dcluca22 (talk) 22:07, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that is perfect actually. The only thing you hadn't done is disclose and now you have. So thanks! :) Jytdog (talk) 22:39, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
