I believe the USS Mormachawk(2) is notable for a few reasons. The Mormachawk(2) is notable to all the people who may search for her to find info about their relatives that were taken to different parts of the Pacific during WWII. For those who sailed on her and never returned. It was notable that she had a large roll in helping establish several military bases throughout the Pacific and that she carried troops to Guadalcanal among other battlefronts. HE "Hawk" also served in the Aluetian Islands in Alaska including Attu, 16 miles from Russia. When you search the web there is very little information on the Mormachawk(2) or the Mormachawk(3) and you keep being directed to Wikipedia and the Mormachawk(1) which had her named changed to the USS Arcturus which worked in the Atlantic and not the Pacific.
