How could Sahir have lived "in poverty and struggle" as cited in the "Early Life" section and yet be egotistic "because of his Zamindari background" as stated in the "Personality" section? Doesn't jell. No sources are cited for any of the claims in the article. If anyone (including original contributor) can find substantiation for these claims, please add them to the article.

Moved "LudhiYanvi" back to what it was before: "Ludhianvi" for two reasons.

1. "Ludhianvi" is way more widely accepted as the right way to spell the name. Simple exercise is to run a search on Google for the name. "Sahir Ludhianvi" brings up 59, 700 hits while Sahir Ludhiyanvi brings up 650. It's a no-contest.

2. "Ludhianvi" means "from Ludhiana". When "Ludhiana" itself is spelt in the article (and known in the world) without a Y, there is little reason to spelll Ludhianvi with a Y.

A simple and humble question on the main article page needs answering. While in the box containing the poet's portrait the poet's birthplace is being quoted as Ameenpur Bazar in the city of Faisalabad Pakistan (erstwhile Lyallpur in British Indian Punjab) and the very same page states further ahead that he was born in Ludhiana city in Punjab India. Which information is to be taken as correct? Lutfullah (talk) 17:44, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Lutfullah[reply]

Can someone transliterate the Urdu/Hindi couplets etc. of Sahir's poetry into Urdu script as currently they are in Devanagri only. It would make more sense given he was primarily an Urdu poet as majority of so-called Hindi cinema songwriters/screenwriters have been and are to this day.Moarrikh (talk) 11:18, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
