Léon Bollée

[edit]

Surely the Sammy Davis Léon Bollée was from 1897? Rupertlt (talk) 14:22, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a reference then feel free to change it. Pyrope 14:30, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

See: [1] This article identifies the car as being from 1897. Rupertlt (talk) 15:15, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Davis takes his corner wider in the evergreen 1897 Leon Bollee tricar. His passenger is C.R.N. Minchin until his retirement Superintendent of the Hendon Mobile Police School."
A word of thanks for catching this egregious error - wrong spelling, wrong date - which has spread from Wikipedia across the internet like a virus - would not go amiss. Rupertlt (talk) 16:13, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Guildford

[edit]

Sammy Davis was my neighbour in 1969 at Sutton Court, Guildford. He and his much younger wife lived in the same flats. I didn’t know he was famous. He was a scrawny old guy with food stains on his tie. She was a total eccentric who smoked brown cigarettes and wore sandals in winter. Dawn Jerny (talk) 15:38, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
