Living Person?[edit]

Why is Shellac (band) in the living person and biography category? I notice that the Steve Albini page doesn't have the contentious information warning at the top, but this one doesn't. Can anyone explain this? Nigtv (talk) 04:27, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's exceedingly difficult to imagine Shellac continuing without Albini. I haven't yet seen any official-ish statement to that effect (nor have I looked), but expect there will eventually be some confirmation that we can add as a citation. In the meantime, and in this particular case, I'd say it makes more sense to require a reliable source for the continued existence of the band rather than insisting on a RS to assume that the band is defunct. (For what it's worth, I'm also inclined to assume good faith and believe that the IP is in fact Trainer or Weston.) CAVincent (talk) 06:51, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My initial response is: I'm aware of that. My second response is: is there any verifiable, reliable source that the band still exists? Also, while I don't intentionally edit anything in violation of these policies, I'm sometimes willing to let other people's edits slide for awhile. This would be one of those instances.
