How many films were based on his novels? 210.245.12.35 (talk) 13:34, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What does Macedonian origin mean?

[edit]

http://www.novinite.com/view_news.php?id=76089 This Obit says- Best-selling author Sidney Sheldon passed away aged 89. He had an emotional bond to Bulgaria thanks to his second wife Alexandra Kostoff, who is of Bulgarian origin. Sheldon visited the country in July 2005 to the delight of his numerous committed readers here.
Is she Macedonian, Bulgarian or American with parents from one or both of the mentioned countries/ethnic groups? Nitpyck (talk) 05:56, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shivaji University???

[edit]

This article says that Sidney Sheldon went to Shivaji University? Really? I cannot find that information elsewhere and there is no citation. Aneesha (talk) 01:36, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Best selling fiction author

[edit]

"He is the seventh best selling fiction writer of all time."

The source is an auction house that was selling his manuscripts and does not seem to be reliable as a neutral arbiter of what constitutes "best selling" www.bonhams.com/press_release/13767/

According to Amazon, "there are more than 275 million copies of his books in print throughout the world." www.amazon.com/Sidney-Sheldon/e/B000APTKYC

According to wikipedia, Sheldon ranks eighth on the list of all-time best selling authors, roughly consistent with Amazon's claims en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_fiction_authors

Therefore, I think it would be more accurate to rewrite the sentence to "He is the eighth best selling writer, with 21 books selling at least 370 million copies." source: www.variety.com/article/VR1117862789.html?categoryid=2&cs=1 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.131.201.210 (talk) 17:35, 20 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't read carefully enough. The source is still faulty and he's apparently moved down to 8th from seventh.

World War II service

[edit]

Although Sheldon served in the United States Army Air Forces during the World War II era, no reliable sources found as of yet state that he served overseas in a war zone during the war. Accordingly, Category:American military personnel of World War II was removed from the article. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 11:47, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
