History needed
[edit]A history section would add a lot to this article.

Lame and comic statement
[edit]Although residential and commercial decline did coincide with an increase in the African American population (69 percent by 1970 and 95 percent by 1980), it had more to do with real-estate “redlining” and commercial disinvestment.
Prolly should pull the whole thing or redact to the statement of flat fact sans opining. Mind projection fallacy , false attribution, etc. 76.180.168.166 (talk) 03:48, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Public Domain Attribution "Neighborhoods - South Shore"
[edit]Except for a few of sentences at the end of the last paragraph, this section seems to be near identical to the description of South Shore in the Chicago History Museum's online "Encyclopedia of Chiago". After reading WP:Copying material from free sources, I initially thought it would fall under a Public Domain Source, so an attribution template would be appropriate. But the material doesn't really fall under any of the 3 scenarios given in that Wiki Page. Then I noticed the Copyright statements at the bottom that CHM Encyclopedia article, making me really unsure of the best way to address it (assuming it should be). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vs604 (talk • contribs) 01:28, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
