WAMMA title match?

[edit]

Is Fedor putting up his belt for this event? --Jackbox1971 (talk) 00:59, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's probably up to Strikeforce. Nothing's been announced yet AFAIK. --aktsu (t / c) 07:23, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Theres a rumor that WAMMA no longer exists because, UFC wouldnt work with them in ranking fighters. I believe the belt no longer exists unless, otherwise noted—Preceding unsigned comment added by Punisher88 (talkcontribs)
They announced today the belt will not be on the line (http://sherdogblog.craveonline.com/blog/2009-11-05#20746).(Justinsane15 (talk) 05:10, 6 November 2009 (UTC))[reply]

why was my stuff moved when it was properly cited and everything, thats unfair and will be reverted (Punisher88 (talk))

Thats BS my source is sourced, i had info about the four matches will take place alongside the maine evnt, also source. Theres info on some news confrence which is not sourced. Your going over board now, my stuff sourced my info should be added as the four matches story has not been spoken off. The participants was not sourced even, why is sourced stuff being removed and stuff you wanna keep left on.(Punisher88 (talk) 22:37, 17 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]
  • All you added was this:
"On September 17th, 2009 it was officially announced that four matches plus the main event of Fedor Emelianenko vs Brett Rogers will air on network tv CBS on Novermber 7th 2009.[1]
"
and this was already in the intro:
"Strikeforce: Fedor vs Rogers is an upcoming mixed martial arts event which is co-promoted by Strikeforce & M-1 Global. The event will air live on CBS [2] on November 7, 2009, making it the first MMA event on network-television since the now defunct promotion EliteXC broadcast its final event, EliteXC: Heat on CBS on October 4, 2008.".
You didn't add anything that wasn't already there. --Drr-darkomen (talk) 22:39, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The four fights is a big f'n deal, the unsourced stuff is not even allowed on this site(Punisher88 (talk) 22:41, 17 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

What unsourced stuff are you referring to? --Drr-darkomen (talk) 22:42, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

the news conference and the participants, read my rant first(Punisher88 (talk) 22:43, 17 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I have a source for that. I didn't add the original content, but I can add a source for it. --Drr-darkomen (talk) 22:46, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

well, lets work together and creat a section "News Conference"(Punisher88 (talk) 22:48, 17 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

[edit]

Announced, Rumored, and Speculated Bouts

[edit]

This page is getting a little silly with new fights appearing and disappearing that only exist for a day or two in someone's imagination. Right now, the source for the Mousassi-Mo matchup says that fight will not be happening. The source for the Werdum-Silva fight has one side saying they think it will happen and one side saying they think it won't. And the link for the Lashley-Waterman fight says Strikeforce is trying to sign Lashley, and if they do, they might have that fight on the Nov 7 show.

I recommend we use a format like the one being used for some UFC events (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_106), as well as some restraint in trying to report things that are no more than guesses and wishes. I'm going to start setting it up that way and if anyone has other ideas, let's hear it. Senor Vergara (talk) 22:45, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I fully support this. Way too much "Hey, a mentioned possible matchup? Let's add it!" around here (Wikipedia that is, not just this article). --aktsu (t / c) 23:17, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Should mention though, a background-section or similar on how the event was developed, including mentions of fights ultimately removed from the card, is still very much encouraged. See UFC 94 (our highest rated MMA-event article), and featured pro-wrestling-event article Lockdown (2008) for ideas. --aktsu (t / c) 23:26, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
