Non free image[edit]

NFCC#10 §c dictates the image page list the articles the image is being used in, so why was it removed despite links to the primary article in the rationale? VegasCasinoKid (talk) 07:26, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • The policy also states: "... and a separate, specific non-free use rationale for each use of the item, as explained at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline" (emphasis added). The image page currently only lists one article and only one instance of the {{Non-free use rationale 2}} tag, but it's NOT this article that it listed.     First, what would be the relevance of a rationale that describes what is now called Hard Rock Stadium in the Miami area, when Super Bowl LV is planned to be played instead in the Los Angeles area? Second, a purpose that merely says "to show image" is ambiguous, and other editors may view that explanation as insufficient for the purposes of NFCC#8 - "Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the article topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding". One editor did remove the image off of History of the Los Angeles Rams citing that rule.[1] Rule 8 is somewhat subjective, but there are those who only strictly follow the two common circumstances listed on Wikipedia:Non-free content#Meeting the contextual significance criterion. My assumption under such a strict interpretation is that the design rendering of the proposed City of Champions Stadium is not really necessary here because it is not really the primary subject of this article, nor is there a discussion or paragraph about the stadium's proposed design here. It is probably the same reason why the Super Bowl LIII article does not currently have an image of the proposed Mercedes-Benz Stadium, or why Super Bowl LIV had a free content image of the stadium near Miami before the renovations. Home team[edit]

I think that in all of the odd-numbered Super Bowls, the NFC (previously NFL) champion was to be the official "home" team (going back to Green Bay in SB-I), with the AFC(AFL) champ getting the nominal honor in the alternate years. So, if this tradition has been maintained, then Tampa Bay will be the "official" home team as well as the obvious one. Of course, that's just coincidence, and they could have as easily been the "visitors" in a game at their own stadium, had this game an even number. In 2017-18, there was a chance the Vikings could play in the Super Bowl in their home stadium as the designated "visitors." The NFL said in that year, the Vikings would have been allowed to use their own practice facility and locker room (instead of the AFC team, as the "home" team, practicing at the Vikings' facility and having their choice of locker rooms/sidelines). The AFC "home" team would have still had choice of jersey color. Ultimately the Vikings lost in the NFC championship game so this contingency was not needed. Misleading logo showing LIV despite 55 being LV in roman numerals[edit]

Why would the Superbowl organizers create a logo that shows LIV rather than LV ? If they're going to stick with roman numerals (for some bizarre reason) they should at least use the right letters ... Wildcard in Super Bowl Statement[edit]

In this article, the Green Bay Packers are listed as the first wildcard team to play in a Super Bowl.

Add streaker on-field interruption note[edit]

It should be noted that gameplay was briefly interrupted during the last minutes of the fourth quarter by a fan in a pink one-piece who ran on field.

Someone has removed any mention of the streaking. This got major news coverage, even you can say it had more coverage in major media than the game itself. I feel i should ask for opinions about adding it back, before I just do it, so please post if you support or oppose to add a blurb about it. You can see the prior version here [3]. Most Championships in Pro Football History[edit]

Alright but Pro Football Hall of Fame does not double counting (In the first 4 Super Bowls, a winning player of the Super Bowl is counted as a Super Bowl champion, they don’t count the NFL or AFL championship that the team won to earn the opportunity to play in the game). CBS says Brady tied Graham and that he has the most NFL championships by player. Which means Starr has 5 championships (I know about his 2 Super Bowls and 5 NFL championships) but the 2 NFL championships which he won the Super Bowl in the same season (1966, 1967) are not counted Sfera1022 (talk) 14:41, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rocket League celebration/sponsorship[edit]

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but, in Rocket League there was an event for the Super Bowl. Would this be something that belongs in this article or would it be better suited for the Rocket League article? Neither page mentions this and I'm not sure if the people who run the Super Bowl had any involvement or if it was just Psyonix/Epic Games.
