Flags

[edit]

As every single driver and team are Swiss, surely the flagsicons are unneccasry? --Falcadore (talk) 23:47, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Potentially not, without them the reader is in doubt as to what nation each item/team actually is. The page seems unfinished and someone visiting for the first times doesn't know if the drivers' nationalities are known at all, especially as most do not have there own articles. Championship explanation

[edit]

As motor racing in Switzerland has been banned since 1955, it is important to explain how this championship could exist under these circumstances. The article does not explain that rather extraordinary conundrum. Is someone able to add the explanation? --Falcadore (talk) 09:02, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Needs sources

[edit]

The early years are either a misunderstanding of the Swiss Championship or have just been made up. For example, in 1975 all the classes were for G8 and G9 and were for cars up to 1000cc, 1300cc, 1600cc and 2000cc. Some International events such as Le Rangiers had a separate F3 class. Gérald Pierroz was the winner of the 1000cc class, so wasn't in a F3 car. Other years are wrong: in 1971, Salomon had a 1-litre Tecno in the 1000cc class; in 1972 Vonlanthen did have a F3 GRD but the car he used in Swiss events was a 1-litre Tecno in the 1000cc class; in 1973 André Hängärtner raced a 1600cc March, probably with its original FVA engine, so an ex-F2 car; in 1976 André Chevalley had a 1600cc March 742, so an ex-F2 car probably with a BDA in it. There was no F3 class in Switzerland in any of these years. So I have to ask, where has this listing come from? We need to see sources or to scrap the article. The article is a one sentence article. It desperately needs expansion just to explain its existance. --Falcadore (talk) 23:41, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't it also need to be correct to justify its existence? I've just gone through 1977 and Rolf Egger didn't win anything. He drove a F3 Ralt and was the quickest driver over the season in Serie IIb (one of five classes within Rennwagen and one of at least 20 classes overall) but there was no separate championship for Serie IIb; the only championship Egger could have won from that class was the Rennwagen championship and he finished second in that to Markus Hotz who had a F2 March. He may have been the quickest F3 driver in the Swiss championship but there was no F3 championship. I'm quite sure Wikipedia isn't allowed to make up retrospective champions. These extra "champions" were added by Danilowski 7 January 2010‎. Given his record for having changes elsewhere reverted and as no evidence exists to support them, I will remove them next time I'm in here and change this championship so it starts in 1978, not 1971. If anyone objects, please say. Allen Brown (talk) 16:29, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. --Falcadore (talk) 17:54, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
