Blue haired girl's and Blonde haired boy's weapons

[edit]

The page has her down as using a dagger but her weapon looks like a combo of a ax and a staff. Can anyone make it out clearly? Also it says the blonde boy uses twin katanas but I only see one.--Animasage 19:25, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ethel Ferana?

[edit]

Anyone have source of this "character", added by the IP address 76.81.100.243? He/she was a known Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology vandalizer, and I just can't seem to find information for this "Ethel Ferana" character. If no one votes against, I'll remove that character from the section until more information is given out. Miyuki 00:54, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will be removing the information tonight if no one's against it. Miyuki 16:03, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Including Height and Weight?

[edit]

What do you think?

I think it should be included because the entries for the other games include this data as well, and if it's information Namco themselves provide for even more info on their characters, what possible bad effects are there by keeping it here? It only adds more detail on this entry.Rpgmonkey 00:36, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be confused with the idea that less is never better. Why is height and weight important by any definition of the word? Just because Namco Bandai includes those stats does not mean that we have to. We DO have a different set of criterias for what we include. - A Link to the Past (talk) 01:31, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But other entries for the series has included this info, and many other games, and they weren't deleted. There may be a set criteria, but added info like height and weight for video game characters is clearly within the rules, and can be added if it's extra info about the character. And there ARE people that may want this info, so leaving it there will causes no problems whatsoever. So it may be useless to you, but if people found it worthwhile enough to add to the many other entries, there's no reason it shouldn't be here for this one. Rpgmonkey 01:39, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Other stuff does it" is not an argument and "People might like it" is not, either. People may like if the ToI article told how to control the game, and some articles do it, but that doesn't make it okay. - A Link to the Past (talk) 02:09, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Weight and Height are fundamental parts of Character Design. It is not only respectful to the artist who designed these characters (Ms. Mutsumi Inomata) to include this information, but it is important information about the games' characters in terms of art and idea too. Besides, while "other stuff does it" is not an argument per se, consistency throughout wikipedia IS a valid argument. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.127.105.188 (talk) 11:38, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should this article still be a stub?

[edit]

I think there's enough information here now that it should removed from the article, but I think it should be discussed between other editors/users. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rpgmonkey (talkcontribs) 05:01, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this game rated B?

[edit]

This has a very cutesy art style and good old Tales gameplay, but why is the game aged B by CERO? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.159.61.130 (talk) 21:01, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The official did not give the icons and the CERO site does not have this game listed, so I don't think anyone will be able to answer you until December 6. Miyuki 00:08, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently violence and language according to the CERO site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cutepresea (talkcontribs) 06:30, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:VG assessment

[edit]

Well, this is definitely beyond Stub-class now. Given the fact that this game is as yet unreleased, resolving all these problems is not going to be possible. Here are some ideas to improve the article further:

  • Lead needs expansion per WP:LS - summarise the whole article in three or four paragraphs.
  • Images needs fair use rationales - see WP:FURG.
  • Article needs more citations - see WP:CITE.
  • Additionally, citations currently not in templates could be converted to the correct template, for example the cite web template - see WP:CITET.
  • The character section in its current form is unencyclopedic. A reader of this article isn't likely to be highly interested in how tall each character is, how heavy they are, which weapon they use, how old they are and which gender they are. They can find that information out from a game guide which Wikipedia is not. Additionally, you don't need a screenshot of each character - it may even violate fair use. Try and take the information out of its list form, converting the useful information to paragraphed text (something like FF7#Characters), maybe with an image of the main hero and main villain.
  • Additionally, when describing the plot, either in the Story section of the Characters section, actually describe it. If you want to include a brief synopsis/blurb of the story do so in the lead section, but you should actually describe the plot from start to end. This may be difficult because the game hasn't been released yet, but you can still tidy up the prose so it's more encyclopedic in the meantime: the use of ellipses is a dead giveaway.
  • The Gameplay section is a little on the long side: try and trim out any details which aren't directly useful to the casual reader who's never played the game before. Also, you never actually say what it is the player spends most of their time doing. For example: are they free to wander around non-linear environments and get into fights when they wish, or is the game a constant stream of fight after fight?
  • Again, the Team List can be removed as it's unencyclopedic. You could add the Lead Game Designer to the infobox, but the rest can be deleted.
  • Any real-world information on how the development's coming along? When was it announced? Has it been shown at any major game shows? Have there been any slips in the release date? When the game is released, you'll also want a Reception section, detailing what the reviewers thought of the game. Have a look at any article at WP:VG#Featured content for an idea of what these sections could include.

Hope this helps, Una LagunaTalk 07:11, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Hermana.jpg

[edit]

Image:Hermana.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Note: this represents where the article stands relative to the Good Article criteria. Criteria marked are unassessed
  • Made some cuts to the lead; feel free to revert but I feel it reads better with less of the intricate detail.
  • "taken at guilds" - a guild isn't a location, as far as I know. The description of the guild system could use a bit of clarification.
  • "or post hints about completing a difficult quest" - what's the point of this in the game? Why can't they just tell each other the hints out loud? Or is it that the game only gives the player hints when they're linked up with a friend?
  • "Mystic Artes (秘奥義 Hi Ougi?)" - why are the kanji needed?
  • "Gague" - is it actually "gah-gwei" (no idea what language that'd be, but not Japanese), or did you mean "Gauge"?
  • "unlike many previous Tales protagonists" - what are they usually like?
  • "to keep the characters' status as heroes undercover" - undercover from whom?
  • "playing out a skit using the outdoor monitors" - a skit? Was this live-action? Is there anything about the actors chosen or what the skit focused on? Was this only once on multiple screens at once, or was it a standard commercial that ran multiple times a day?
  • "Voice acting in Tempest was restricted to battles, but the developers wanted to have voice acting for Innocence while keeping as many planned features in the game as possible." - confusing; were they satisfied with corralling their voice acting talents to the mere realm of battles or not?
  • "a fictional dialect" - I'm aware that the distinction between "language" and "dialect" is muddy (consider Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian/Montegrin vs. Egyptian/Iraqi/Levantine/Moroccan Arabic), but was this an actual new language, as the name implies, or just a dialect of Japanese? (Actually, the marginalized Ryukyuan languages were classified as Japanese dialects until fairly recently, making this a particularly contentious issue.) What are some characteristic features of it? In my experience, Japanese is fairly homogeneous considering the size of its speaker pool.
  • "coded Japanese" - ???
  • Why is Additional media a subsection of Reception?
  • Scores in Reception prose are discouraged; you could probably simply remove them.

Tezero (talk) 02:19, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've done my best to address all your concerns (Triverse was just described as a "language" in the reference). I also picked up a grammar mistake left over from your edits on the lead. --ProtoDrake (talk) 09:10, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I wish there were a bit more about what "code" and altered Japanese meant, but as it stands, this fits the GA criteria; nice job. Tezero (talk) 22:48, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
