Discussion

Taylor Dayne has a new single "I'm Not Featuring You" with mixes by Mike Cruz and Manny Lehman on Tommy Boy Records. It just entered Billboard's Club Play Chart at No. 35 with a bullet. Check www.Billboard.com. Someone should add it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.23.47.73 (talk) 06:01:31, August 19, 2007 (UTC)

Wow... someone is not a big fan of Taylor Dayne. Sarcasm turns to absurdity...

Cryptico

But Cryptico --- are you sure about that? Are sarcasm and absurdity always indicative of dislike? Don't you sometimes make fun of (not to be confused with insulting) your friends, and vice versa?

As it happens, I like Taylor Dayne, no more than I do a mildly amusing, moderately inane Hollywood blockbuster ("Mr. & Mrs. Smith", anyone?), but certainly no less.

And it's just Taylor Dayne, for crying out loud. --BrentDanzig 00:32, 19 July 2005 (UTC)

Birth Name

Has anyone got a definite answer to her real name ? There seems to be a dichotomy in researching various reference articles between :

Lesley / Leslie

Wonderman / Wunderman / Wundermann Derek R Bullamore 20:45, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

It's "Wunderman" according to her bio on the official website. sugarfish 17:59, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

HEr birth name is LESLIE WUNDERMAN , her legal name since 1990 is TAYLOR DAYNE, it is not a stage name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Politic28 (talkcontribs) 02:56, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi, Politic28. Please don't put your talk page messages in the middle of other people's messages. And please sign your talk page messages so everyone knows who they're speaking with. You can do this by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of them, which also automatically time stamps them.
Regarding Dayne's name, do you have a reliable source that supports your assertion? Nightscream (talk) 04:32, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

Chart position

Dayne has not had a number one hit in the UK Singles Chart or UK Albums Chart. Reliable reference as follows [1]. This may throw doubt on some of the other chart achievements claimed elsewhere in the article.

Derek R Bullamore 19:14, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Ive removed that table twice now, I have no idea what its even supposed to mean. It doesnt specify any songs or albums and has no sources. The chart positions in the current table are up to date and corrected. -- eo 18:38, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Significance?

I am afraid I have to agree with the first post under 'Hugely Successful', which by the way is not snide it's accurate. Why is this person worthy of WikiP inclusion? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.134.28.230 (talk) 06:07, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Why would we merge it and what with? Taylor Dayne is a person..she isn't part of any group and she is very successful as an individual. Perhaps you mean one of her singles articles? Ayumi4u 02:51, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

How do I change it? ~ politic28 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.173.9.121 (talk) 22:45, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Well for one thing, you don't remove a photo that's already in the article unless you can provide a valid rationale for it. But if you want to replace it with a better one, the photo would have to be located on Wikimedia Commons. You can upload media to the Commons here. Once the photo is uploaded, you can add it to the article. Nightscream (talk) 04:32, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

Unsourced dubious claims

I have removed the following sentence: "Dayne has sold between 10 and 25 million albums and millions of singles worldwide". It is unsourced, POV and slightly ludicrous. How about 'she has sold somehow between none and 34.79 million trillion zillion records - probably'. The deleted sentence needs a source which, I suspect, will not be forthcoming. Derek R Bullamore (talk) 13:18, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Actually, it's right off the artist information that displays while playing a Taylor Dayne song in Rhapsody. It say "Believe it or not, Taylor Dayne has sold over 25 Million albums". Yes, I agree though, it is somewhat unreliable, they do have a negative POV towards popstars in general. Also, that little snippet of info only displays in the upper right corner of the screen in the rhapsody software while playing "tell it to my heart" from the library. If you could get a more reputable wikipedian with a rhapsody subscription (free or paid) to confirm this... ██████ 00:50, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Dubious Claims in Preface

I highlighted some claims about songs reaching certain positions in "Hot Dance Club Play" chart, allegedly published by Billboard Magazine. I couldn't find verification for these claims on the website of Billboard, even if I could verify other claims. If you have references to support these claims, please provide them. Otherwise, the statements will be deleted.TippTopp (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 22:12, 1 July 2011 (UTC).

Australian singles positions for first 2 singles

They did NOT reach #2 and #7 They reached #10 and #30 !!! Who keeps changing it ?!??! And are you going by the official ARIA charts? You can't possibly be. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.171.3.247 (talk) 12:27, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Split off Discography section?

I think that since the discography section is about half of the article, that it should be split off into its own article. Thoughts?--Jax 0677 (talk) 22:27, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

I don't really see the need to split it. The main article is not that big and the only reason to split is not on the size of the discography but the size of the main article. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 18:41, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Is she Jewish? I'm just going by her name and her children's names. But I've never heard of a shiksa naming her son Levi... Aroundthewayboy 06:59, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Tha title of Taylor Dayne’s hit song “I Will Always Love You” should be changed to “I’ll Always Love You” and the link to the page “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton should be removed, because Taylor Dayne did not sing a cover of this song. Her song “I’ll Always Love You” is a different song.

I'm Taylor Dayne's manager (Anthony Marks) along with Konrad Leh at creative Talent group. requesting a change in Taylor's personal life section.

Change THREE CHILDREN to TWO CHILDREN. She only has the twins- a third child doesn't exist.

Thank you. Anthony Marks anthony@creativetalentgroup.com 47.138.223.85 (talk) 02:33, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

I made the change and removed this source per WP:BLPRS and WP:DUE. Normally, I'd say that the claim about a third child was sourced and should stay until we have better sources specifically stating otherwise. However, (a) every other source I've found refers to only two children, and (b) the single source is likely a case of WP:CITOGENESIS as the claim about a third child and the source were both added by a now-blocked serial hoaxer, plus the false claim was present in our article at the time of the source's publication. I'm inclined to believe the IP and the lack of corroboration from literally any other reliable sources. Woodroar (talk) 05:00, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

Political slant and bias

Please take out political slant and bias regarding supporting gays and performing for Trump. Not relevant to this in the least and inserted simply to disparage Taylor Dayne. 73.28.198.249 (talk) 13:14, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Also, please establish a consensus before making an edit request. The use of actress in the article seems reasonable due to her movie acting. GrayStormTalk Contributions 01:20, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
