Can this become a Good Article?

[edit]

Please comment if you have any thoughts about improving the article, or getting to pass GA (at least). I'm particularly struck by the heading above which says it's an 'Unknown-importance history of science article.' That verdict ought to be corrected somehow! Morgan's great work was done between 1910 and 1930, in my opinion. Does anyone object to further expansion of the sections now called 'Columbia' and 'Caltech?' Ideally this might involve sub-articles. Because of its importance, I'm wondering if we need a category like Category:Drosophila genetics. Or maybe a suitable navigation template. At present we DO have a Category:American geneticists that contains Morgan, Sturtevant, Bridges, Muller, Dobzhansky et al. Actually it is about to contain Dobzhansky since he obviously belongs. I have two comments on Thomas Hunt Morgan page:

  1. My impression as a first-time visitor of this page is that there is a lot of information, but it is not easy to locate the information I am looking for. Headings such as 'Bryn Mawr' are not very helpful: for me it is a meaningless heading. What I miss is subject / topic headings.
  2. It is unusual to have a 'List of books by Thomas Hunt Morgan' on another page in stead of on the same page. I propose to include that list on the same THM page.

{{editsemiprotected}} The text about Thomas Hunt Morgan claims that he was born in Canada, yet the sidebar states that he was born in Lexington, Kentucky. Lexington, KY is correct as far as I know. His family lived in Lexington. I don't know where the information about Canada came from.Donchesnut (talk) 15:38, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done, was probably vandalism. fetch·comms 17:30, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
