Neutrality

[edit]

I nominated this article for a neutrality check because it seems to ignore the negative repercussions of the creation of the reservoir. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.132.215.44 (talk) 08:08, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The whole piece reads like a badly translated transcript of the 'Prospectus' for building the dam, rather than an informative article about its current existence. I agree with the contributor above that it does nothing to highlight any possible negative effects of the dam and its reservoir. (The article on the dam itself does this much better.) I would suggest the 2 articles should be combined into 1 informative article by someone who understands a bit about dams, reservoirs and their impact, both positive and negative, on the environment and economy.MWchat (talk) 14:05, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Three Gorges Reservoir RegionThree Gorges Reservoir — The reservoir is called the "Three Gorges Reservoir". Region is redundant in the title. Also per Ghits: "Three Gorges Reservoir" vs. "Three Gorges Reservoir Region". Rehman 08:19, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Then shouldn't it be "Three Gorges Reservoir region"? And being such a small article, why couldn't it fit into a broader "Three Gorges Reservoir"? Rehman 09:47, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: (1) Certainly, an article about the reservoir deserves to exist, besides the one about [[Three Gorges Dam|the dam itself (even though the two objects obviously are closely related). (2) The Three Gorges Reservoir Region article as it exists now seems to be primarily not so much about the reservoir per se, but about a government-designated zone that consists of two dozens of counties around the reservoir, and various gov't programs etc. that go with it. So if one does the requested move, the article Three Gorges Reservoir will have to get a good intro about the reservoir as a geographical entity, and then maybe it should have a section about the "region" (as the gov't-designated zone) into which most of the material from the currently existing Three Gorges Reservoir Region can be moved. -- Vmenkov (talk) 01:24, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
