Some inaccuracies

[edit]

Nice article, very informative. However, I've noticed a couple of inaccuracies... The closing section states "Visitor numbers and demographics", states:

"The number of arrivals by air rose through the 1980s to a peak of 62,438 in 1989 before falling to 66,219 in 1996."

How can it fall to a greater number? :) Further down the same section states:

"The problem of smuggling between Gibraltar and Spain occasionally leads to long delays for vehicle traffic crossing the border during Spanish Civil Guard crackdowns."

I have to say the long delays are not exclusively due to a problem with smuggling, which exists, but more often than not they come down to the political mood of the authorities in Madrid... --Gibmetal 77talk 2 me 12:54, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Both good points... I've reworded the first and alluded to the second point you made with a new form of words: "Smuggling between Gibraltar and Spain remains a source of tension between the two governments and occasionally leads to long delays for vehicle traffic crossing the border during Spanish Civil Guard crackdowns."
