Prod removed[edit]
This was prodded as advertizing. Maybe I just like beer too much, but it doesn't seem overly advert-like in tone, and as commercial brewery it does seem to be a legitimate topic for an article. Friday (talk) 21:48, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- FWIW, I wrote the article and I have nothing to do with the brewery. I was aware of the need to avoid advertising, so made a point of featuring their reputation, awards, and links to the locality, and avoiding any advertising blurb.
- The article came about as follows. I did a fair amount of work some time ago on Alton, Hampshire and included the fact that hops used to be grown extensively in the area around the town, and brewing used to be one of its main industries. The Alton page is in my watchlist, so when yesterday user 217.154.4.250 added a short section about this small local brewery, I investigated to see if it was genuine and decided that not only was it a valuable addition, but a short article about the award-winning little brewery would be a useful addition to WP.
