Speed record

[edit]

What does "outright land speed record" mean? 300 mph was surpassed in 1935, so surely this isn't quite the same thing. Is this over a shorter distance? (eg. 500m?) --Interiot 16:42, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps it means fastest on land for any vehicle. I'm sure there are other land speed records steam powered, pedal powered, electric powered, on rails, etc? Talskiddy 08:44, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vehicle sale

[edit]

I added a reference to the current fate of the vehicle (last known being sold on eBay) but I haven't found out if there was a buyer, who it was, how much it sold for, and what the eventual fate will be. This would be good to locate and add. XenonofArcticus (talk) 20:12, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image

[edit]

I think the image should be changed, move the hammond crash image down and get a proper photo of the car

WP:ENGVAR in disambiguators

[edit]

re: the rename of Vampire (car) to Vampire (automobile): Wikipedia talk:Article titles#Does WP:ENGVAR apply to disambiguators?

Andy Dingley (talk) 10:10, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted as part of WP:BRD both for the ENGVAR issue and the fact that this vehicle doesn't seem to meet the definition of automobile in our own article. Taken together this move is controversial enough that I'd like to see a WP:RM if it is to take place. Dpmuk (talk) 14:45, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
