Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because Wale Bolorunduro,PhD is an important personality who has contributed immensely to development of humanity and his profession. Wale Bolorunduro is a first class graduate of Engineering from one of the first generation universities in Nigeria Obafemi Awolowo University. He came tops of his class and was the best graduating student in the university in 1990. Although he studied engineering in first first degree,Bolunduro delved into business management and finance and his stories have successful ones.He has over 20 years experience in banking industry in Nigeria and topics on construction financing would not be complete without mentioning his name. Before he picked an appointment in his home state of Osun as the commissioner for Finance,Budget and Economic Planning,Bolorunduro held key positions in Zenith Bank, one of the biggest commercial banks in Nigeria. Having become the head of treasury and economic planning in a state of over 4 million population,Bolorunduro put into motion strategies on how to improve the internally generated revenue of the State of Osun.Osun is an agrarian state, with little or no commercial and industrial activities going on.So the state had to rely heavily on the allocation/income from the central government to pay his salaries of its workforce ,provide amenities for the citizens and meet other statutory obligations. Bolorunduro moved the revenue of the state from meager 300 million naira monthly to close to 1 billion naira monthly. Bolorunduro’s expertise is sought by all and sundry, particularly in government circles in Nigeria. I am of the opinion that story of a great man like this is supposed to be archived on Wikipedia so that the current and future generation can read about him.

I have declined the speedy deletion nomination because I find the claim that he was commissioner of a Nigerian state to be a credible claim of notability. However, the article needs better sourcing, and it is far too biased towards the subject. This is an encyclopedia, not a fan magazine. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 21:16, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
