What is the purpose of the seemingly irrelevent section about Walter Payton?

Some have questioned coach Mike Ditka's play-calling, as they believe that Payton should have been given the chance to score a TD in—what would prove to be—Payton's only Super Bowl appearance. Ditka himself even stated in interviews after Payton died from liver cancer in 1999 that his single biggest regret was not letting Payton score a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

As the article is about William Perry, and not Walter Payton, nor Mike Ditka's poor play calling, nor Super Bowl XX, it does not really contribute to the general knowledge about The Refrigerator. I propose this line be deleted, or moved Walter Payton's article.ThinkerTDM 02:28, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pontiac commercial[edit]

I recall that in his time with the Chicago Bears, Perry also made a commercial for Pontiac automobiles that ended with him uttering the great line "... and when you open da do, da light go on."

However, I'm unable to find a reference to it.

request for less personal info?[edit]

I was surprised to see details of Perry's current disability and living situation detailed at such a high level in this biography of a living person. Not sure what/how to change it, but it seems to be sharing too much that's too personal (disabled, in assisted living, with younger brother as conservator?). Anyone with more expertise able to make it more suitable? Or is sharing this level of detail considered suitable? DrMel (talk) 02:37, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Gi joe[edit]

Isn't the fact a GI joe figure based on him was made noteworthy? He was only the second figure based on a real person.
