2011 release
This whole section looks to have many inaccuracies.
For example The right mouse button works fine for me in the message body. Copy links, open in new window/tab, search, etc. Middle click works to open links in a new tab. Maybe it depends on the browser?
Also I can right click on an address/name and select "copy address"

Page-scrapers do not constitute supported protocols
The "Features" section for the "Free Version" under "Supported Protocols" says, "POP3 in Asia or via YPOPs!". POP3 access is not provided in the free version in the USA, and accessing it via YPOPs! (a page-scraper) is not only not supported (and hence not a "supported protocol"), but also may violate several of the Yahoo! terms of service, hence exposing the user to cancellation of the account amongst other consequences. I think that the same probably applies to the other "available via" entries (e.g. IMAP via Zimbra, etc.) if these are page-scrapers which they presumably are. While these programs can be mentioned somewhere in the article, it is incorrect that they should be listed as "supported protocols" of the service. David F (talk) 11:30, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
Help page cannot be found
I have 998 messages on my email account page dating back to 2011. I am trying to sort by date so I can sort out the oldest. Everytime I try to isolate a group a message opens. If I could find help maybe I could work this out.1archie99 (talk) 20:56, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
- I found out how to get rid of the old mail. I actually had to do a google search to find help page for yahoo mail; seems ridiculous. If there is a link to help someplace on the window displaying the list of messages on yahoo mail I would appreciate knowing where it is.1archie99 (talk) 21:29, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Yahoo! Mail Classic link
Since it seems the link is not wanted in the article itself, I'm inserting here on the talk page for future reference for any person(s) who are trying to find it because of forgetfulness or are merely curious. Hope it saves some time for others, as I had to look through the history myself.
us.mc598.mail.yahoo.com/mc/launch -- 76.115.36.89 (talk) 01:31, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
Welp, appears that Yahoo! Mail Classic is finally gone since the link now redirects to an error page. I am a sad panda. 76.115.36.89 (talk) 01:19, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
The link currently in the article works: http://us.mc1252.mail.yahoo.com/mc/welcome -- Pemilligan (talk) 21:47, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- It only partially works. Yes, it takes you to an "old" login page BUT upon entering in your login information you are redirected to the "current" login page. I typed in the information a second time, and it brought up the new Yahoo! Mail. (Although in my original update, it simply lead to an Yahoo! error page.)
- Classic Yahoo! Mail is dead, and the article ought to be updated accordingly. 76.115.36.89 (talk) 20:50, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
Sorry to hear you're having trouble. It's working just fine for me. -- Pemilligan (talk) 02:57, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Can anyone elaborate about the conditions that trigger the mandatory transition and end access to Yahoo! Mail Classic? I pay annually for my account and I still have access to the "Classic" version despite the warnings that I would loose access June 1st.--Kencaesi (talk) 18:50, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

Account expiry on inactivity changed to 12 monthsCan someone please update the following entry on account inactivity? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahoo!_Mail#Free_version
Since according to yahoo help, it's a fixed 12 months limit: http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&y=PROD_MAIL_ML&locale=en_US&id=SLN3057
And (at least for me and 1 more unlucky unrelated person) there is no recovery of account, due to account recycling of july 2013
! in Namethis edit removed the ! symbol from the name in the infobox and various other places, including in category names. The category changes were recently reverted. The guidance at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks is:
In line with that, should we have a local consensus to prefer "Yahoo" to "Yahoo!"? If so, should that include proposing a rename of the related categories? DES (talk) 16:04, 20 November 2013 (UTC) Talk page cleanup?I noticed that user:Ukexpat has removed 5,984 bytes from this talkpage in this edit. Did anyone check it? Wouldn't it be better to set up an archive for old discussions rather than allowing user discretion about which postings are appropriate here? XOttawahitech (talk) 16:15, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

KoreaThe link given for Yahoo mail Korea does not work. Koreans with Yahoo accounts have told me they had to switch to Yahoo.com. 211.225.33.95 (talk) 04:59, 15 January 2014 (UTC) POP3 AccessAs of October 2014, it appears that POP3 access is no longer a premium service, but instead available to all subscribers, even in the United States. 173.2.58.242 (talk) 09:52, 20 October 2014 (UTC) Needs privacy policy discussionThe article needs a mention of Yahoo's email data retention policy, how long emails are saved on Yahoo's servers after user deletion (6 months or 18 months or ?), etc. Users can request restoration of accidentally deleted emails, but only if the email date is within the past seven days. Older emails cannot be restored, but are they still hidden on their servers for 6 or 18 months? These are qiestions I'd like to see an expert discuss in the article. 5Q5 (talk) 17:36, 12 January 2015 (UTC) Opening Yahoo email accountsSomeone must have hacked my e-mail because I received messages from my contacts that I had been arrested in Tokyo or Turkey and I needed money. It was on Feb. 2 that I received fewer than usual number of messages in my inbox and have not received any message until now. According to the instructions I changed my password and security answers to security questions on Feb. 4. I'd like to know more about this, why it happens, and what Yahoo's response was. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.95.174.225 (talk) 23:02, 16 March 2017 (UTC) Adding and Moving SectionsIn the features section, there seems to be more than two configurations of e-mail plans (free and business) that are stated. There are seemingly four: Free plan, Plus plan, Ad Free plan, and Business Plan. For example for the "Plus Plan" we can literally take the section in "History" that details the Plus Plan and move it into a "Plus Plan" section of "Features"

Cheers.—InternetArchiveBot (Report bug) 15:57, 14 December 2017 (UTC) Privacy of emailsI would like to add this into the list of 'controversies', although there is probably so much user apathy that I'm not sure it fits as a controversy. Anyway, like Gmail, Yahoo! Mail is allowed to read through all users' emails, for the purpose of showing targetted advertising to each of those users.
2020 source"As of January 2020, Yahoo! Mail had 225 million users.[7]" The source for this comment is an article written in 2017 7, so I assume the sentence above is wrong? SpamHunters (talk) 06:02, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
