2000 UEFA Cup Final
[edit]- ...
that the 2000 UEFA Cup Final ended 0–0 after extra time, while Galatasaray won 4–1 over the English team on penalty shootout?
- Reviewed: Not a self-nomination
- Comment: Deliberately avoiding to name the English team, challenging the interested reader's memory (or curiosity).

- I think that putting "the English team" is being unnecessarily obtuse. You should say it was Arsenal if you want to put that in. But I do think that the hook is not really that interesting and that a better one could be done. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 09:16, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for comments. Below is an alt1 hook without "the English team", and an alt2 hook with a different focus. You may suggest other hooks if you like. For instance the fan riots (of which I have no interest). Oceanh (talk) 10:51, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
ALT1: ... that the 2000 UEFA Cup Final ended 0–0 after extra time, while Galatasaray of Turkey won 4–1 on penalty shootout?- ALT2: ... that by winning the 2000 UEFA Cup Final, Galatasaray was Turkey's first football team to win a European competition?
- As much as i'd like to have a hook on the riots, I'm fine to go with ALT2. Date, length and hook all OK. QPQ not needed. No close para. Good to go. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 11:02, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
