Arthur Rook (dermatologist)[edit]

Keratoacanthoma
Keratoacanthoma

Created by Philafrenzy (talk) and Whispyhistory (talk). Nominated by Philafrenzy (talk) at 22:26, 19 August 2018 (UTC).

  • General: Article is new enough and long enough. Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems. First hook has been verified by provided inline citation QPQ: Done.

The first hook is based on the importance of the papers by Rook and Whimster in drawing attention to the fact that this was a common condition and this is clear in the article. Suggest the following minor amendments : 1. Change 'director of sugar...' to 'director of the sugar division...' despite what is written in the DNB. 2.There should be a link to keratoacanthoma. 3. Include date of Rook's MB graduation. 4. Add the fact that keratoacanthoma was the subject of his 1950 MD thesis. I don't think Alt1 is appropriate as it is not clear why the term was coined by one author but 'officially first used' by others.Papamac (talk) 13:39, 4 September 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for reviewing @Iainmacintyre:. Points taken and I'll check over and ping you back shortly. Crossed Alt1. Whispyhistory (talk) 14:24, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
Done @Iainmacintyre:. Please check ok now. Whispyhistory (talk) 15:07, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
@Whispyhistory: Suggest 'qualifying MB BChir in 1942 and graduating MD in 1950 with a thesis on keratoacanthoma and blistering eruptions.' (ref Oxford DNB https://doi.org/10.1093/ref:odnb/49944).
Some other points. 1. Note that the DNB gives his dob as 15 May 1918 (not 1915) and this confirmed at Family Search. 2. Pemphigus and pemphigoid in mid sentence should not be capitalised. 3. Suggest link to BDA Wikipedia article and add his name to list of presidents there. 4 Images of him in BJD and at BDA - is fair use of these possible? Papamac (talk) 09:30, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
Yes, @Iainmacintyre: please provide the links and I will extract one. Philafrenzy (talk) 20:57, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
