Billy Bates (baseball)

[edit]

Improved to Good Article status by Seattle (talk). Self nominated at 21:11, 22 December 2013 (UTC).

  • The article became a GA on the 22nd and is clearly long enough, and the hook format doesn't present any issues. However, I see a couple of issues with the hook fact in the article. First, the article says that "Trainers wanted the cheetah to chase a toy", but I'm not sure the source makes that explicit enough; it just says the cheetah was supposed to chase a toy, without mentioning who wanted it to. Second, and more concerning, the hook fact is closely paraphrased to the source. The article says: "The premise of the event was to prove a cheetah could beat a human in a 100-yard dash, even if the human had a five-second head start." Source: "in which it wanted to prove a cheetah was faster than a human, even if the human was given a five-second start." This is doubly concerning because the article is at FAC at the moment. • Check the revisions here. I did a c/e and changed the trainer issue to passive. Thanks for the review. Seattle (talk) 18:33, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
  • The fixes are satisfactory, and I didn't see any further paraphrasing issues upon checking a couple more sources. I think the article is good to go now. Giants2008 (Talk) 17:10, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
