Brian Bellhouse

[edit]
  • ... that Brian Bellhouse was trampled to death by a herd of cows? Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)
    • ALT1:... that Brian Bellhouse, who invented a device to avoid the pain of injections, was trampled to death by a herd of cows? Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)

  • The article is new enough and long enough. The hooks are cited. The article is neutral and uses inline citations. I copy edited the article to remove close paraphrasing. The QPQ is not yet done. Gulumeemee (talk) 03:45, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
  • The hooks are good to go. Gulumeemee (talk) 00:52, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
  • @Edwardx: I don't feel I can promote this, especially not to the quirky spot. Although from a DYK perspective the hook is acceptable, I think it fails the decency test. He died earlier this year, and his family will not like having the unfortunate circumstances of his death plastered on the main page of Wikipedia. Could we have a positive hook instead, perhaps concentrating on his needle-less injection technique. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:14, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
  • The section about PowderJect is a little stubby; more information is needed between injecting himself and forming a company. There is also close paraphrasing from the source:
  • Source: In 1992 he was working on a powdered injector to deliver genetic material into plant cells
  • Article: In 1992, Bellhouse was at work on a powdered injector to deliver genetic material into plant cells
  • Yoninah (talk) 14:32, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
  • The close paraphrasing remains after over two weeks, as does the stubbiness issue, and the point about a positive hook has also not been addressed. Marking for closure as unsuccessful. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:58, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
  • Apologies, BlueMoonset, I really have let this one slip. I'm not a scientist and didn't know what that phrase really meant, so I've added quote marks. I'm trying to come up with another hook right now, but am a bit hampered by not understanding the science. Edwardx (talk) 23:08, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
  • New ALT2 below. Edwardx (talk) 23:18, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
    • ALT2:... that Brian Bellhouse invented a needle-free and pain-free injection system which was eventually sold for £542 million?
  • @Edwardx: thank you for your edits. I removed some close paraphrasing and added a few details from the sources. It looks good now. ALT2 hook ref verified and cited inline. Rest of review per Gulumeemee. ALT2 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 20:15, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
