  • ... that the free-swimming larva of the whale barnacle Coronula diadema settles on a host whale in response to chemical cues from its skin? Source: "These results indicate that the cypris larvae of C. diadema were induced to settle and metamorphose by a cue from the host whale")
  • ALT1 ... that laboratory experiments suggest that the free-swimming larva of the whale barnacle Coronula diadema is induced to settle on a host whale in response to chemical cues from its skin?

  • . Thanks. QPQ done, copyvio okay, reads well, interesting, 5x expanded. Are you sure it is definite that it settles on a host whale in response to chemical cues from its skin....and not just highly likely, probable, indicated or suggested? The paper says Here we describe the larval development and settlement of the whale barnacle, Coronula diadema, and possible involvement of a cue from the host in inducing larval settlement.[1] Does gallery need citations? Otherwise, beautiful image which is in public domain. Whispyhistory (talk) 09:42, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
  • @Whispyhistory: Good point. I have struck the original hook and substituted ALT1 (199 characters). I don't think the gallery needs any citations. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:42, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
