Cullen House

  • ... that Lewis Grant-Ogilvy had the entire village of Cullen demolished and rebuilt so that he could improve his garden at Cullen House? Source: "Between 1820 and 1830, the new town of Cullen was built, and every trace of the old one demolished, save for the Kirk, to allow the Earl of Seafield to improve his policies." Discover Cullen; this is also covered in more depth in the offline sources listed at the article.
    • ALT1:... that ...? Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: No - Per WP:DYK#Cited hook, the reference should occur no later than the end of the sentence where the hook is mentioned. This is as easy as copying over the relevant reference, or even a punctuation change.
  • Interesting: Yes
QPQ: Done.

Epicgenius, thanks for the quick review. Can I just check the requirement here - I generally source stuff within the body of the article, and then write an unsourced lead. Would you be satisfied if I move the refs around within, or are you asking me to add a source to the lead? GirthSummit (blether) 18:35, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
@Girth Summit: To clarify, a reference is not required within the lead. I am satisfied with moving the refs in the body. epicgenius (talk) 18:36, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
Thanks again for the quick reply! I'm about to make dinner, but I'll tinker tomorrow and let you know when I'm done. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 18:42, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
