Disappearance of Heather Elvis

[edit]
  • Reviewed: Lackawanna Limited wreck
  • Comment: Hat tip to Woody Allen for ALT2. Since this relates to the five year anniversary of the event, December 18, I request expedited review.

Created by Daniel Case (talk). Self-nominated at 00:13, 13 December 2018 (UTC).

  • New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. QPQ done. Image in article is fair use.
  • I don't find any of the hooks as arresting, if you will, as your previous disappearance hooks. ALT0 is kind of ho hum. ALT1 could be used, but without naming the suspect. ALT2 seems to be more about the suspects than the disappearance. Could you suggest an improvement to ALT1, or another hook? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 00:21, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
@Yoninah: Alright ... I had tried to keep the hooks devoted to aspects of the story that are really relevant to it. But if we want something better, I could go with something more clickworthy:
ALT3: ... that Sidney Moorer said his wife handcuffed him to their bed every night after he ended his affair with Heather Elvis, who disappeared five years ago today? Sidney Moorer claims he was handcuffed to a bed the night Heather Elvis disappeared, WBTW
Now how's that for arresting? Daniel Case (talk) 17:05, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
  • @Daniel Case: definitely – but we can't use his name on the main page as he doesn't have a Wikipedia article. Yoninah (talk) 17:36, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
@Yoninah: OK, then ...
ALT3a: ... that Heather Elvis's married lover told police his wife handcuffed him to their bed every night after the affair, when they investigated her disappearance five years ago today? Daniel Case (talk) 21:26, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
  • How about turning it around:
  • ALT3b: ... that after the disappearance of Heather Elvis five years ago today, her former lover told police his wife handcuffed him to their bed every night to make sure he stayed faithful to her? Yoninah (talk) 21:46, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
@Yoninah: Fine. It reads a lot less awkwardly. I should have thought of that myself. Daniel Case (talk) 22:18, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
  • Thanks. ALT3b hook ref verified and cited inline. Rest of review above. ALT3b good to go. Yoninah (talk) 22:25, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
