Khukri Rum[edit]

Coronation Khukri XXX Rum
Coronation Khukri XXX Rum
  • ... that Khukri Rum (pictured) is a Nepalese dark rum that comes in Kukri (Gurkha dagger) shaped bottle, was launched in 1974 to mark the coronation of the 12th King of Nepal?
  • ALT1 ... that Khukri Rum (pictured) comes in a Kukri (Nepalese Gurkha dagger) shaped bottle?

  • Comment only Shorter ALT1 added. Edwardx (talk) 20:42, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
  • Comment. Maintaining ALT0 since it is in the specified length and provides key information. Thanks for the comment. Full review required. Arun Kumar SINGH (Talk) 17:44, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
  • AKS.9955, you should not be striking ALTs suggested by others, unless they are factually incorrect. Once you nominate something for DYK, any changes to your hook, or new hook suggestions, are up to others. ALT1 unstruck. Edwardx (talk) 22:27, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
  • Alt0 is a run on sentence that looks non grammatical to me so I recommend against using it. Though it could easily be reworded to be clearly English. The article is new enough and sufficiently long. But there is a lack of citation on the first paragraph under "Varieties". There is a maintenance tag. So I will look at the sources to see if they are unsuitable. .. .. .. Some sources would not be counted as reliable or independent, but at least 2 are OK, so I will detag the article. However the article states exported to Australia, but sources do not support that, but another did say "Austria". The image looks likely to have been supplied by the uploader and not stolen from somewhere else, and it has a suitable license. The copyvio detector finds nothing. Hook ALT1 is misleading, as only a limited edition in 1974, Coronation Khukri XXX Rum, came in the dagger like bottle. ALT0 did not make this clear, but did link to a subsection (which is not permitted in DYK either). So overall we need one paragraph cited, and a hook rewrite. • @Graeme Bartlett: would this make a good Halloween hook?
  • ALT2: ... that a limited edition of Khukri Rum (pictured) comes in a dagger-shaped bottle?
  • Or for an everyday hook:
  • ALT3: ... that a limited edition of Khukri Rum in a dagger-shaped bottle (pictured) was launched in 1974 to mark the coronation of the 12th King of Nepal?
  • The inline cites are in place and verified for these hooks. Yoninah (talk) 19:49, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
  • Either hook ALT2 or ALT3 check out OK, in the article, and referenced. However the referencing problems I mentioned above are unfixed. Also note Birendra Bir Bikram Shah was crowned in 1975, even though the rum bottle was introduced in 1974. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:12, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
  • This has been sitting far too long without addressing the referencing problems; nominator has been given a final talk-page notice. Regarding the note about the 1975 coronation, Birendra Bir Bikram Shah actually succeeded as king in 1972, but had postponed the coronation ceremony until 1975 because that was deemed the most auspicious date for the coronation. So the limited edition was launched for the king's impending coronation at a point when the date had long been established. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:05, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
