Olivia Dahl

  • Reviewing...New enough, interesting, long enough. Take your time with a QPQ. May be Philafrenzy can think of an alternative hook on Olivia/measles/vaccine/Dahl. Whispyhistory (talk) 21:33, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
  • ALT2 ... that after Olivia Dahl died from measles, her father Roald Dahl became an advocate of vaccination? It's tricky because he stated his views more than 20 years after her death and we need to keep the focus of the hook on the child not the father whose reactions form the core of the article. Philafrenzy (talk) 21:53, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
Your right. Can you think of some more. Take your time. Whispyhistory (talk) 21:55, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
copyvio issues because of a large quote. Reviewing again...I think ALT1 is clearest and more Olivia focussed than others. Hooks are in article and followed by inline citations to sources containing hook facts. Other tag issues resolved. @No Swan So Fine:...I think the article might look better if the lead and beginning has 'a lead' followed by a section 'life' or 'biography'. • I would favour the original hook as Alt1 is a little banal and doesn't address the central impact of her death as forming his views on immunisation. It's also very topical right now. Agree it needs a proper lead and dividing into relevant sections now it has been moved. The second huge para needs breaking up. P.S. I doubt he spelled it with a "z" but that's what the source says so we will have to go with it. Philafrenzy (talk) 07:05, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
to proposed hook too. Whispyhistory (talk) 07:42, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
Apologies...just saw that a QPQ is due. Ping @No Swan So Fine:....Whispyhistory (talk) 08:35, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
The tag on the article has not yet been addressed. Yoninah (talk) 14:03, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
@Philafrenzy: the original hook is inaccurate, as he said it two decades later. I suggest tweaking ALT2 as follows:
ALT2a: ... that Roald Dahl became an advocate of vaccination after his eldest daughter died from measles, saying it was "almost a crime to allow your child to go unimmunized"? Yoninah (talk) 19:16, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
Fine. @No Swan So Fine: just needs to provide the QPQ and write the lead and do some tidying. Philafrenzy (talk) 06:09, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
Sorry, now done. Thanks for all your hard work. No Swan So Fine (talk) 17:47, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
Approving ALT2a. Thank you No Swan So Fine and Yoninah... and others. Whispyhistory (talk) 06:44, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
