- How about: ALT3 ... that Ralph Smith O’bré invented a double tracheostomy tube that was popular among surgeons in Georgian Dublin?
- I don't think we should worry about people understanding tracheotomy tube, most people know what a tracheotomy is and can infer what a t-tube is or click through. (It's fine for co-author to have done QPQ in my experience) Philafrenzy (talk) 08:19, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification on the QPQ! I prefer ALT3, as ALT1 and 2 imply that the device is no longer popular today (which would require separate sourcing). I agree with your logic, Philafrenzy; thank you for addressing my jargon concern. One last thing: the source uses the term "tracheotomy tube," though aren't they typically called "tracheostomy tubes"? - I suggest keeping the WL to the tracheotomy page while keeping the wording of "tracheostomy"; currently, tracheotomy tube and tracheostomy tube redirect there (even though the term "tracheostomy tube" is preferred). The term "tracheal tube" includes endotracheal tubes, which are of a different sort. Thus:
