Ram Singh Malam[edit]

  • ... that 18th century Indian navigator Ram Singh Malam reached Holland when he was rescued by a Dutch ship from a shipwrecking? Source: Sastri, K. A. Nilakanta (1959). "Ram Singh Malam of Mandvi". Journal of the Assam Research Society. Kamarupa Anusandhan Samiti (The Assam Research Society). XIII: 19–21.

  • Reviewing...my turn @Nizil Shah:..great story, before going further... he created the masterpiece pleasure room. I feel a better hook there. Can you expand some information on that? Whispyhistory (talk) 20:24, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for a review. I will expand information on Aina Mahal pleasure room. I will do it soon and also propose ALTs. Regards,-Nizil (talk) 02:26, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
@Whispyhistory:, I have expanded Aina Mahal article (which has that pleasure hall) and will take some more time as two references are awaited via resource exchange. Meanwhile have a look. I will ping you after I have completed the work. Regards,-Nizil (talk) 18:00, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
@Nizil Shah:....you are doing very well. No hurry. Whispyhistory (talk) 18:39, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
@Whispyhistory: I think resource exchange will take more time so we can go ahead with current article Aina Mahal which is now in good shape and 5x expanded. ALT1 hook suggestion below. Please review the expanded article as well considering submission on 25 March (start date of expansion). I would like to go ahead with two articles in single hook.-Nizil (talk) 05:34, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
ALT1: ...that Ram Singh Malam designed and decorated the Palace of Mirrors in 18th century India?
@Yoninah:, is it OK to merge two DYK nominations submitted on different dates (here first on 20 and second on 25 March)?-Nizil (talk) 05:38, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
  • @Nizil Shah: yes, if the creation/expansion of the second article was done within a 7-day time frame of the date you're nominating it (31 March 2019). Yoninah (talk) 13:09, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
  • Aina Mahal...(my calculation) Before 25 March, character count 766. On 31 march (day of nomination)- character count 3941, which is around 117 characters more than 5x expansion within 7 days of being nominated. So okay, I'll review both. Thanks @Nizil Shah: and @Yoninah:. Give me a little time, but on scanning over, looks good. Whispyhistory (talk) 18:55, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
Thank you, I will submit second QPQ very soon.-Nizil (talk) 04:19, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
Second QPQ submitted.-Nizil (talk) 04:16, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you, tick to both. No copyvio issues, long enough and sourced by many offline sources but I can see the hook in one online reference. May I suggest to tidy the chronology of references when used in multiples 3 or 4...minor thing. QPQs done, checked dates. It would have been a pleasure to include "pleasure hall" in the hook, but I can't think how. Okay to go. Whispyhistory (talk) 18:48, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
@Whispyhistory: Thank you for the approval. I would have liked to include pleasure hall as well. Your comment on it inspired me to rewrite/expand Aina Mahal article and include it in the hook. Pleasure hall is a part of this palace. Let me try with another hook ALT2.-Nizil (talk) 07:29, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
ALT2: ...that Ram Singh Malam designed and decorated the 18th-century Palace of Mirrors and its pleasure hall?
ALT2a: ...that Ram Singh Malam designed and decorated the Palace of Mirrors and its pleasure hall?
All ok..thankyou. You have a good attitude. Whispyhistory (talk) 13:13, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
