Reginald Wilenski

[edit]
  • ... that despite never completing his bachelor's degree, R. H. Wilenski was appointed lecturer in the history of art at the University of Manchester?
    • ALT1:... that ...?

Created by Philafrenzy (talk) and Whispyhistory (talk). Nominated by Philafrenzy (talk) at 17:12, 19 July 2018 (UTC).

  • Created 7 days before the nomination, DYKcheck reports 3699 characters of prose, no copyvio, no other content problems. QPQ completed by the co-creator rather than the nominator but I assume that's okay. But regarding the hook, the source cited in the article says that Wilenski had the position of "special lecturer", not lecturer, at Manchester. I hadn't heard of that before but I gather it's usually an occasional teaching position that isn't considered equivalent to a normal lectureship. As lecturer is a formal academic rank with some prestige in the UK, not just a description, I'd suggest that the hook be changed to:

Otherwise the hook is fine. – Joe (talk) 07:47, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
Thanks, I agree to special lecturer. Hook changed. Philafrenzy (talk) 23:18, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
In that case , ready to go! – Joe (talk) 06:24, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
