Venric Mark[edit]

  • New article meets size requirement. You have an offline source of Northwestern Football 2011 Yearbook for the single-season record. My understanding are that yearbooks are usually released before the season, so I question if a 2011 yearbook would fully support the claim for a 2011 record. Anyhow, I found the 2012 yearbook online. The only strange thing is that on p.148 it list Jim Pooller in 1974 with the record of 807, but on the year-by-year table, Mark is shown with 915. Not sure if some games did not count for Mark. Are there other sources that can be used?—Bagumba (talk) 22:02, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
  • So you have confirmed that he has surpassed the old record. Doesn't that mean that he now holds the record?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 23:31, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
  • That source is conflicting, so it doesn't confirm anything. He had 141 yards in a bowl game. Perhaps bowl games don't count for a season record? Since his NW bio doesn't mention the season record either, I am skeptical.—Bagumba (talk) 23:59, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Can we please get an ALT hook proposed, since there is a legitimate question about one of the hook facts: the failure of the school to list him as the season record holder cannot be ignored. (I would suspect that bowl games do not count toward this record, given the facts above.) BlueMoonset (talk) 21:17, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
(ALT1)... that 2012 College Football All-American Venric Mark holds the Northwestern records for both single-game kickoff and single-game punt return yards?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 05:17, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
This review is getting old and is overdue. Any chance we can get this on the main page during the January 1, 2013 Gator Bowl, his last game of the season. I think it should go in the last January 1 queue.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 23:23, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Review of ALT hook needed. (Note: it's too late for a special January 1 main page placement.) BlueMoonset (talk) 17:59, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
  • ALT1 hook ref verified. Everything else checks out, too. Good to go. Yoninah (talk) 23:52, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
