Tudong and Tudung

[edit]

Hi, I just removed Tudung from the list of links for "Types." It redirects to Tudong so I thought it was probably unnecessary to have two links that go to the same place.

Yes, if either is a redirect to another article, it's better to remove it and keep the main (non-redirect) article in the sidebar template. Chongkian (talk) 02:37, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Image

[edit]

The image used in this template is that of the niqab. But that is not the most common form of Islamic female dress. The image should be changed to a picture of the hijab.VR talk 23:50, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Now the template is without any image. Probably it is a more neutral that way. Chongkian (talk) 02:38, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Islamic"

[edit]

Once again, Wikipedia fails to recognise what the source of Islam is. The source of "Islam" is the Quran, nothing else. So, for someone to label these things as "Islamic" you must provide a source from the Quran where these garments are mentioned, which they are not.

There's no such thing as "Islamic" clothing, it is all about the fit of the garment which classifies it as acceptable to Islam.

Just because a majority of people, who classify themselves as Muslim, start wearing a particular item of clothing, it doesn't make it Islamic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marccarran (talkcontribs) 20:27, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
