New version

I'm building a new version of this template on the sandbox which uses {{WPBM}} and will sort out all the issues with this template. It's not quite finished yet, but I've noticed a few things and perhaps people can help me out.

  1. The following parameters seem to be completely unused. In most cases the corresponding categories don't even exist which probably means they were copied from some other banner! Do you want any of these?
    • portal
    • collaboration-candidate
    • past-collaboration
    • failed-collaboration
    • map-needed
    • image-needed
    • portaldykdate
    • portal-picture
    • assess-date
  2. The albums taskforce has a lot of categories missing. Do you want quality and importance classification for this taskforce?
  3. pre parameter is not supported, as it seemed to relate to a different project?
  4. Most of the categories required for Christian music albums task force are not created. Therefore categorisation for this taskforce is disabled for now.
  5. Ditto for the Christian songs task force.
  6. Ditto for the Southern Gospel music group.
  7. The serbian-orthodox-church has been merged with Eastern Orthodoxy.
    • The current banner accepts parameter soc but the documentation says serbian-orthodox-church.
  8. I have added support for a portal parameter as requested. However I haven't implemented image-needed or assess-date simply because the current banner doesn't support these, so I had no wording, icons or categorisation to copy from. However these are easily added later if the need arises.

If there are any other comments I'd be glad to hear them. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:28, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

The portal parameters should be kept. The collaboration and map features could reasonably be removed, although the image feature might still be useful. The assessment date feature could be very valuable, whether its used yet or not, and probably should be kept. And I'm fairly sure most of the template was copied from somewhere else. John Carter (talk) 15:36, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I have added a few other points above which I have come across. But, with these exceptions, I believe the new version is ready to roll. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:37, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Implemented. Should be a big improvement. Let's see if there are any comments. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 17:02, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Add portal image?

{{edit protected}} Would you be able to add a portal image, the same file: P christianity.svg, because the majority of the other religion related project banner templates have portal images. Thanks. --Funandtrvl (talk) 06:05, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

The reason I left it off is that the banner will automatically switch the portal link depending on which taskforce is activated. So I didn't know if there was one image which would suit all portals ... Let's see if any project members have an opinion on this. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 06:39, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
But, can't you program it to change the portal image to match each portal then? Not just keep one portal image for all the portals? I think WPFOOD has this programed in, or they were working on it at /Sandbox (capped S). --Funandtrvl (talk) 08:13, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
It would be possible, but it adds a lot of extra messy code to the template, so I didn't want to do it unless the project really wanted it. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:40, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
I've added the File:P christianity.svg as you suggested. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:03, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Something is wrong

Something is wrong with this. I just added it to Talk:Ed Blakely with the Church of the Nazarene parameter and it showed up with as part of the Anabaptist work group, too. I think I've seen this before. King of the Arverni (talk) 18:03, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Fixed, well spotted. It was actually affecting every nested banner! By the way there is no such parameter church-of-the-nazarene-class, as the taskforces all use the same class. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:50, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

image-needed not used

The parameter is documented, but currently has no effect. Documentation bug?--Oneiros (talk) 18:49, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I think it was just copied from another banner's documentation. I've removed it along with a few others that were not supported. Of course, if you want such an option, it would be simple to add. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:00, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Recent changed

The recent changes made by user:John Carter have seriously changed this template. His "typo" edits have made the entire LDS-work-group stop functioning and I would suspect due to the changes several other groups don't work. These "typos" aren't "typos" since they are variable that are defined inside the templates codes. They need to be undone so this template will work again.--ARTEST4ECHO (talk|contribs) 12:59, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

arrow Reverted. John: ARTEST4ECHO is correct. You cannot just change parameter names such as {{{Indian-work-group}}} to {{{indian-work-group}}} because all the article which are using the uppercase version will then fail to work. Can I suggest you use the /sandbox to experiment in, and maybe get someone else to check your code before deploying. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:22, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
I really wish ARTEST4ECHO had done a bit more to verify that he was correct before complaining, because it seems at least some of his complaints are perhaps inaccurate, and he certainly made completely unwarranted assumptions about the nature of what I had done in his initial complaint. The only reason I did change the "I" in "Indian" back to lower case was because that was what it had been before; the capitalization of the "I" was apparently done automatically by the system, which seems to automatically capitalize certain words it recognizes as needing capitalization. In fact, if you see the earlier versions of the template, such as for instance here, you will see that the "indian" had in earlier versions always been lower case. I did, in fact, copy the syntax directly from the last earlier version of the template, and primarily just changed the order in which they appeared, so that direct subprojects would appear below their patent in the expressed template. ALthough I do note that the one mistake I did make, unfortunately, was to list "LDS-work-group-importance" instead of "LDS-importance," which I acknowledge was a mistake on my part, I believe that the this would have been addressed much more reasonably if the complainant had done more than just complain, and had actually done a bit of work to verify that his assumptions were supported by the evidence. And, for what it's worth, the Salem Witch Trials work group doesn't yet employ importance standards, although I did work to create some categories for such usage after the fact, once I noticed that. John Carter (talk) 16:49, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
First, I disagree with the "inaccurate" and "completely unwarranted assumptions" statements you made. Everything I said above is 100% accurate and the only "assumptions" I made was that there were probably other pages with similar issues, but since I don't know the coding I don't know what the would be. that assumption has proven true. I have never said that I knew what the issue was or how to fix it. All I said was that the LDS-work-group was not working anymore because of the changes you made and someone needed to undo it. Since I am not an administer I can’t do it. MSGJ was the one who chose to undo all the edits.
Second, Your very first edit summaries say "fixed typo" and what you did was change |tf 8 importance={{{charismatic christianity-importance|}}} to |tf 8 importance={{{charismatic-christianity-importance|}}}. This changes the input value name so that any page using the "charismatic christianity-importance" value (which is every one of them) no longer works. I did not find the {{{Indian-work-group}}}.
The LDS Movement vs LDS movement wasn't the only place where you changed capitation and/or punctuations and names making every talk page using those values broken. You chaged several other value names using wording in your edit makeing the changes sound like they were "typos". Like here you change {{{syriac-christianity|}}} to {{{syriac-work-group|}}}. No talk page using the {{{syriac-christianity|}}} would work anymore.
You choose to say that these were done to "fix typos", but these aren't typo at all as far as I can see.--ARTEST4ECHO (talk|contribs) 18:00, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Change request for "Baptist work group"

Can this line:

TF_3_NAME = Baptist work group

be changed to

TF_3_NAME = Anabaptist work group

(Baptist replaced with Anabaptist)? This will make it consistent with the project title, "Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Anabaptist work group" and less confusing when the template is used on articles that are specifically Anabaptist in nature. The confusion arises because depending on ones point of view, the Baptist articles are a significant subtopic of Anabaptism (thus Anabaptist is the primary grouping), or the two are mostly unrelated topics, with some similarity between the two (thus Baptist is given priority because there are many more articles on notable topics in this category). I think the easiest way to address this relationship is with the above change; there are two more complicated options: split these into two separate workgroups or create a broader workgroup that includes a number of similar groups as well as Baptist and Anabaptist that doesn't subordinate one group to another. Thoughts? JonHarder talk 18:56, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

I've made the change you requested. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:40, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for doing the change. This has a consequence I had not foreseen: it broke the categorization. See for example Talk:Family Life and the two redcats at the bottom. I can create those "new" cats if that is the best solution, but maybe it is preferable to discuss a better solution to this Anabaptist-Baptist project mixture. JonHarder talk 12:23, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
Well I've changed the assessment category back to the original, which fixes the problem while you discuss the best way to tackle this in the long term. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:30, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Reduce size of image in template

Image:Christian_cross.svg is too long & narrow; it eats up too much talk page space with whitespace and a large margin beneath the Wikiproject Christianity introduction. (This happens with any "tall" image using the default width.) If reduced from the default 80px to 50px, it looks much better. Thus, please add beneath the image:

|IMAGE_LEFT = Christian_cross.svg
|IMAGE_LEFT_LARGE = 50px

That should do the trick. SnowFire (talk) 21:47, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Edit request on 10 December 2012

I'm surprised that this hasn't already been done, but shouldn't there be a parameter on this template that links to the Christian films task force? Currently, articles can be added to the task force by adding "Christian=yes" to the {{WikiProject Film}} template, but I don't see any corresponding "film=yes" that can be used on the {{WikiProject Christianity}} template. Just thought that I'd pass it along, in case it was somehow overlooked. Fortdj33 (talk) 20:54, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Not done for now: Hi there. Could you put the relevant code in the template sandbox? Once you've done that reactivate the edit protected template and someone can copy the code over to the main template for you. Don't forget to test it out on the test cases page as well. Best — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 21:28, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
Not sure that I did it right, since it didn't show up on the test case page, but I added what looks to be the proper code on the sandbox page and saved it [1]. Hopefully someone can copy it into the proper location, because IMO it should really go between "Religious texts" and "Christian music" instead of where I put it. Thanks! Fortdj33 (talk) 02:11, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
No, the syntax was a bit wrong - the sub-templates only accept up to 10 task forces, so it didn't register when you tried to make it number 11. I've corrected that for you, but I have a couple of questions. First, you used "christian-films" as the parameter name - that means that whenever someone wants to add the task force on the article talk page, they have to type {{WikiProject Christianity|christian-films=yes}}. However, you said you wanted the parameter name to use "film=yes" above. Which one would you like to use? Another thing is that you have specified a separate importance scale for the task force, so the template expects Category:Top-importance Christian films articles and related categories to exist. However, these are not used by WikiProject Film and are currently red links. Do you want to use these at WikiProject Christianity but not WikiProject Film? Once we have these two details sorted out I can update the live template for you. Best — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 08:07, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
I apologize, I simply copied the parameters for one of the other task forces, and changed the appropriate words to match the Christian films task force. But yes, the parameter that I think should be used for {{WikiProject Christianity}} is "film=yes", because all the other wikiprojects that are linked to film task forces use either "film" or "cinema" as the parameter. And I'm not sure about the importance categories, since I understand that {{WikiProject Film}} does not use them, but it appears that all the other parameters for the Christianity project do use them. Let me know if you want me to help create them. Thanks, and sorry again for the confusion! Fortdj33 (talk) 14:15, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. I've deactivated the request again for now, because we need to have a definitive "yes" or "no" for the question whether or not we should create the importance categories. I suggest starting a discussion about it on the project talk page and linking to it from WikiProject Films as well. Leave it open for a week and see what people say. If there's no response we can simply go with your preferred option. Best — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 17:49, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

Preference for this over subproject templates?

Should this template always be used instead of the various subproject templates? If so, should the subproject templates be merged into this one? If not, could some notes be added to the documentation here and at the subproject templates to help people know when to use which template? --JFHutson (talk) 15:39, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

Good questions. In general, we would I think probably prefer to use this template over those of most of the so-called subprojects, with the possible exception of the various Christian music projects and some articles relating to the recently changed Unitarian Universalist groups, which are no longer necessarily "Christian". This template is equipped to provide assessments for both the Christianity WikiProject and the subprojects, which the others aren't. However, it is also true that in some cases some of the individual subproject's banners have some additional functions which this one doesn't, for some things like "this article has been tagged as having certain specified problems," "this article has been selected for Portal X," etc.. It might be possible for someone, probably me, to set up this banner for all those functions, but to date I haven't, partially because it is a lot of work to include all those parameters functionally. Were there any particular situations or articles you were specifically thinking of? John Carter (talk) 16:04, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
No, I've never needed any of those extra params so I just wondered why we still have the subproject temps. It doesn't really sound worthwhile to do a bunch of extra work, and I guess there's no real problem with being inconsistnt with these tags. --JFHutson (talk) 19:46, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Needing attention parameter

I believed that |attention=yes with |jehovah's-witnesses=yes would use Category:Jehovah's Witnesses articles needing attention but it seems that Category:Christianity articles needing attention is still used. |jehovah's-witnesses-importance= is also currently unsupported. I wonder if I should work on this or if it is generally advised to manually add the category instead... Alternatively, since it's a small project I could also simply add articles needing attention to its TODO list. —PaleoNeonate – 01:10, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

@PaleoNeonate: The way that this WikiProject banner template is set up, use of |attention=yes will populate Category:Christianity articles needing attention but no other categories, regardless of which taskforce/subproject parameters are set. I don't think that subdividing is necessary, since at the time of writing, there are just 68 pages in the category (which in an ideal world, is 68 too many); the present count is 95. Subdivision is certainly possible: this is done at {{WikiProject United States}} by putting code like this
 |TF_1_HOOK = {{WPBannerMeta/hooks/cats
 |category={{{category|¬}}}
 |BANNER_NAME = Template:WikiProject United States
 |cat 1={{{attention|}}}
  |CAT_1 = American animation articles needing attention
}}
into every taskforce invocation.
To your second question: the |jehovah's-witnesses-importance= parameter is certainly supported; are you sure that you didn't mistype it, perhaps as |jehovah's witnesses-importance= or |jehovahs-witnesses-importance=? It's also case-sensitive, make sure that you don't use a capital J for example. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 09:41, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
I did not see this parameter in the documentation and when I tried it the same category was used, so I (most likely erroneously) assumed that it was not supported. When you say "every taskforce invocation" do you mean that this could not be part of the template itself but would need to be on every talk page? Thanks for the help, —PaleoNeonate – 10:03, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
The |jehovah's-witnesses-importance= parameter is definitely documented: towards the bottom, where the params are described, we see:
It's also in the blank template towards the top; but for some reason, this groups together all the "WikiProject subproject specific importance tags" after all the "WikiProject Christianity subproject specific tags" rather than arranging them in pairs.
Back to the first question. There is no need to modify every talk page when all that is needed is some code in the template itself. Have a look at how {{WikiProject United States}} does it; edit the source and look for {{WPBannerMeta/hooks/cats --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:21, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
Oh I'm sorry, it's |jehovah's-witnesses-attention= that I meant in my first post. —PaleoNeonate – 10:32, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
The template is template-protected (I don't have this access), but I could probably perform tests with a sandbox version. Your clues have been useful. I cannot test it now, but if I get in too much trouble when I do I'll report again here. For now the project's TODO list has an articles needing attention section too (not using the category). —PaleoNeonate – 10:36, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
That's definitely unsupported as well as undocumented. I don't know of any WikiProject banners that have an attention parameter that is taskforce-specific - have you seen something like this used elsewhere? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:38, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
Not at all, this is the first time I'm part of a project using multiple taskforces (and I just joined it today, but started to improve technical aspects of the project a week ago or so). So probably that keeping them in the TODO is the simplest solution. Thanks again for your support, —PaleoNeonate – 10:50, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
Just adding: what started my quest about this was when I noticed that the category existed (since 2007). I now assume that it was never used since. —PaleoNeonate – 10:54, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
Being template protected doesn't stop you (or anyone) from looking at the page source. Instead of an "Edit" or "Edit source" tab, there will be a "View source" tab. This gives you an edit window with certain limitations: you can mark text and copy it to your clipboard, but you can't alter anything.
Category:Jehovah's Witnesses articles needing attention is empty. This category was created at a time when there was a separate WikiProject banner for WikiProject Jehovah's Witnesses (see final version which had an |attention= parameter to populate that cat; the template got merged into Christianity in April 2009). --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 11:05, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I did read its source already. Thanks for the merge notice. —PaleoNeonate – 12:06, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

WikiProject Catholicism template

The WikiProject Catholicism template has been added to the articles concerning the Catholic Church. I started the Patrick Nair article and added the WP Catholicism template. Patrick Nair was a Catholic bishop from India. Then an IP editor changed the WP template to the WP Christianity. I feel this is redundant and not necessary. The WP Catholicism template for the Patrick Nair article is sufficient and for other articles concerning the Catholic Church. Thank you-RFD (talk) 09:16, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

@RFD: using {{WikiProject Christianity}} with |catholicism=yes should technically result in the equivalent categories being used, with the exception of |attention= which would cause articles to be in Category:Christianity articles needing attention rather than Category:Catholicism articles needing attention. What would be interesting to know is if WP:CATHOLIC eventually migrated to become a Christianity subproject or if it still by convention uses its own template. Currently it still lists the Catholicism template on its main project page, which unless outdated, supports your view that this template still should be used for articles which are only of interest for Catholicism. I suggest opening a thread about it at WT:CATHOLIC to assess or establish such consensus. Thanks, —PaleoNeonate – 09:42, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
I added a comment to the WikiProject Catholicism talk page-thank you-RFD (talk) 11:03, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
@RFD: You have yet to reply to the two questions I posed at Talk:Patrick Nair. Most notably, what problem are you attempting to solve? The child project parameters of this template are the elimination of a redundancy. And with respect to the question you posed at WT:CATHOLICI feel adding the WP Christianity template is redundant and not necessary. The question I have is: should WikiProject Catholicism be a subproject to the WikiProject Christianity or remained separate? – if the answer is for them to remain separate, that does not mean that {{WikiProject Christianity}} would not be placed in addition to {{WikiProject Catholicism}}. If redundancy is the concern, that would be the introduction of a redundancy. 142.160.131.202 (talk) 16:17, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
A few years ago, there was a discussion at WikiProject Wisconsin about making the WP Wisconsin a subproject of the WikiProject United States; it was voted down. Some of the state WikiProjects like WP Ohio, WP Indiana, etc., are subprojects of the WP United States. Other WikiProjects like WP Michigan, WP Illinois are not. My concern about making WP Catholicism a subproject of WikiProject Christianity is not only redundancy but also impractical given the many articles concerning the Catholic Church. Messianic symbol

Could you replace the File:Messianic symbols.png with File:Messianic symbol.svg?--AntanO 13:29, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

It looks like the png has already been replaced everywhere except a few user pages. Primefac (talk) 15:19, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

Proposal for a new infobox

I'm thinking about creating a new infobox template, (potentially) called Infobox church office. While I have mainly Catholic offices in mind, I think it can be used for Anglican ones as well, and potentially others, such as Latter-day Saint ones. I envision it being something of a cross between {{Infobox organization}} and {{Infobox official post}}, except customized to allow parameter labels and template designs that are specific to a given church. I imagine it being used as the primary infobox on articles about specific positions, like Cardinal Vicar and Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (Catholic), and Archdeacon of Westminster (Anglian). It would be able to accommodate offices held by individuals, such as Cardinal Vicar, as well as those that are collective bodies, such as the Congregations. It would not be used for general positions, like periodeutes or hierodeacon. What do people think of this? Ergo Sum 03:51, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

What I think of this is that you have created this thread without mentioning that you had already started similar threads elsewhere, contrary to WP:MULTI. The earliest that I can find is at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Catholicism#Proposal for a new infobox. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 07:28, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

Parameter Correction

I am one of the active editors editing articles related to the Holiness Movement work group. Currently, |church-of-the-nazarene=yes renders the Holiness Movement work group. This parameter should be adjusted to |Holiness movement=yes as the Holiness movement is inclusive of several other denominations besides the Church of the Nazarene, such as the Free Methodist Church and Wesleyan Church, for example. I would appreciate if a template editor could kindly make this correction. Thanks, AnupamTalk 08:49, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

User:JFG, this was one of the templates that I wished to edit. Could you kindly assist with the correction? Thanks in advance, AnupamTalk 08:53, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for thinking of me. I have considered your request, but I'd like to hear input from other editors involved in this WikiProject. In particular, you are asking to replace a parameter called |church-of-the-nazarene= by another one called |holiness-movement= because, as you say, the Holiness movement is inclusive of several other denominations besides the Church of the Nazarene. However, applying this change would break pages that already use |church-of-the-nazarene=. You may of course look for all specific uses of the |church-of-the-nazarene= parameter and replace them, but perhaps that is not what is expected. Or perhaps you want to have both parameters. Being uninvolved in this project, I have no idea what is the right thing to do, and I advise you to debate it with other interested editors. A notice at the talk pages of Holiness movement and Holiness Movement work group would probably help you determine the right course of action. — JFG talk 09:09, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
And of course, you should notify Talk:Church of the Nazarene. — JFG talk 09:15, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
You're welcome User:JFG! I'd be happy to replace |church-of-the-nazarene= with |holiness-movement= on articles where the parameter is currently in use (which is not many). I will add a notice to the talk pages you suggested to gain the input of other users. Thanks, AnupamTalk 09:17, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
Support. Church of Nazarene is a splinter group. – Lionel(talk) 12:26, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for your comments User:Lionelt. At this discussion has been up for almost a month User:JFG, would you be able to kindly make the adjustment? I hope this helps and look forward to hearing from you. With regards, AnupamTalk 15:58, 8 July 2018 (UTC)

Done. I also updated the documentation. Enjoy! — JFG talk 03:33, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

Thank you User:JFG. I note that right now, in the template, it is rendering "WikiProject Holiness movement". It should be rendering "Holiness Movement work group" and also the complete parameter should be |holiness-movement-work-group= to reflect that status (I already adjusted several templates using this notation). I thank you for your help and look forward to hearing from you soon. With regards, AnupamTalk 03:38, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
That is unfortunate. Now we have another change to push and automate. I'd much rather keep the parameter name short, with just |holiness-movement=. I note that Wikipedia:WikiProject Holiness movement redirects to Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Holiness Movement work group, so there is no problem following the link. If you want consistency in naming, perhaps the simplest solution would be to rename the project page to the shorter title, because "work group" is kind of redundant with "WikiProject" anyway. What do you think? — JFG talk 03:48, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
I replaced all instances in 583 talk pages, up to Category talk:Zimbabwean Salvationists. Enough for today. — JFG talk 05:16, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
No worries. Thanks for the replacements. With regards, AnupamTalk 05:29, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

Template-protected edit request on 30 October 2018

Please replace the following:

  |TF_4_PORTAL = Latter-day Saints

with this:

  |TF_4_PORTAL = Latter Day Saints

This page/template is intended to link to Portal:Latter Day Saints, but the one it currently links to (Portal:Latter-day Saints) now--appropriately--redirects to Portal:LDS Church.

The link here needs to be updated to link directly to the intended portal. Jdaloner (talk) 06:36, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

"Eastern" =yes variable

In short mentioning, as seen in Talk:Religious text, "Eastern" variable display should be changed to "Eastern Orthodox Church" for accuracy, in order to distinguish from Eastern Christianity. PPEMES (talk) 14:40, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

@PPEMES: Templates do not have "variables", they have parameters; and the parameter |Eastern=yes is invalid, as indeed is |"Eastern"=yes. The correct form is |eastern-orthodoxy=yes (in lowercase) and associated with that is another parameter, |eastern-orthodoxy-importance=. These are both described in the template documentation. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:01, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
