The 2014 Hama offensive is a military operation launched by Syrian rebels during the Syrian civil war in the northern part of the province of Hama, in an attempt to reach the Hama Military Airport and the Provincal Capital of the province, also in an attempt to cut the supply line to Aleppo,especially after the rebels seize the village of Rajhan. The rebels managed to capture several strategic villages and arm depots during their offensive.
Offensive[edit]
On July 26,The rebels in Hama province captured Khattab and Rahbeh villages, taking over arms depots.[2]
On July 27, clashes continue between regime forces backed by NDF against Islamic battalions in the western sides of Qamhana town. [3],Also clashes took place between regime forces and Islamic battalions in al-Sher and al-Majdal villages in the western countryside of Hama near Maharda.[4]
On the next day,The rebels and their ally, the Nusra Front, took over The Tarabih checkpoint north of Hama city, and during the recent advance the rebels managed to reach a distances of nine kilometers away from The Hama military airport, which they want to put out of action.during their advance the rebel forces began striking it with Grad missiles.[5]As the rebels have advanced,they were able have cut off the road linking Hama city, the provincial capital, to a string of regime-controlled Christian and Alawite villages in the west of the province.[6]

The rebel offensive has force Regime forces to step up their troop presence in the area, which will limit the regime's capabilities in other areas, such as Aleppo. also the rebels tend to capture the Military Airport to stop The air force from manufacturing Barrel Bombs,Which are being manufactured in Hama military airport, to strike opposition-controlled areas across Syria for many months.
