Image scaling

HOW DO I SCALE DOWN AN IMAGE!?!

Do so like this:

to force it to 50, or put 40px for 40, or 500 for 500...etc...

checkY Done — by the way, please sign your talk page posts with "~~~~" or just click the signature button in the edit box toolbar. This produces a signature and time - for more, read WP:SIG. Cheers, anthony[review] 23:17, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Signature

Hi, I noticed your question, in order to get a proper signature you can either type in four tildes, like this ~~~~, or hit the "signature" button in the toolbar, I think it's the one furthest to the right in the edit window (go figure, it looks like a written signature :) Mak (talk) 23:49, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Just kidding, they've changed it, now it's just ot the right of the red crossed circle with a W in it. Mak (talk) 23:51, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm trying to create an automatic signature after my name (kind of like the one Anthony (see below) uses, that automatically posts in my messages with my name in a different font, bolded, with the talk/contribs thing. If you have a minute and could show me, it would be of great help thank you.

Hi. Have a look at WP:SIGNATURE, that should give you an idea as to how you can create a signature :) Bjelleklang - talk Bug Me 23:43, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

test of tildes/ here it goes: Curran (talk) 23:52, 19 April 2007 (UTC) please work!

Looks like it works fine, the reason it looks like the talk page link doesn't work is that this is your talk page. Any time you link to a page on that page, the link becomes bold and un-clickable. It works fine from my talk page. Cheers, Mak (talk) 23:58, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

THanks a lot!!! Curran (talk) 23:59, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Signature

Basically, there isn't that much to show; head over to your preferences (top right), make sure that 'raw signature' is on, and then type the signature text you want. To start, edit this page and copy my signature into the textbox where you set your signature, and replace Bjelleklang with your own username. Bjelleklang - talk Bug Me 00:03, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Help!

How do you move a page? Curran (talk) 15:38, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

At the top of the page next to the history tab there is another tab that says "move" click on that and follow the instructions on there. If there is no tab the page is probably protected and an admin is required.

Any more problems please let me know, right away!!

Could it be that since I've only been a user since April 19, 2007, that I don't have this privilege yet? I have tried to be a good Wikipedian by responding to people's {{Helpme}} requests and finding a way to resolve their problems. By doing this, I am hoping to become more comfortable with the markup on on Wikipeida. Cheers, Curran (talk) 15:44, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
That might be that case, if you want you could tell me what page it is you want moving and i will happily do it for you. When you wrote a message on my talk page i got a orange bar at the top of my screen telling me i had new messages on my talk page. I hope i have answered your question. (dont worry it wasn't annoying) If you have anymore question please ask me Dep. Garcia ( Talk | Help Desk | Complaints ) 16:02, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Help Me Template

Hi, I have noticed that everytime you leave a comment on a talk page considering someone's opinion, you place {{helpme}}. The template is considered as a tool to help users who are having trouble with certain aspects of Wikipedia. Again, please do not abuse the help me template for leaving comments on talk pages regarding comments, but instead using it constructively in order to ask questions concerning Wikipedia as a whole. Unspecified source for Image:BRETON_SCH.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:BRETON_SCH.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:26, 29 April 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Iamunknown 02:26, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Image:WTNR_Tower.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:WTNR_Tower.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Anti-Vandal tools

Hi there, I see that you are interested in cutting down the amount of work involved in reverting vandal edits. I strongly recommend Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation_popups. It has lots of useful features , and is a very useful anti-vandal tool. You don't need authorisation to use it, just a modification to your monobook.js page. The only thing I would say is that I use it on Firefox - if you're using Safari I believe there are a few issues, which are referred to on the popups page.

Happy editing. --Stephen Burnett 09:47, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello

Thanks very much for your help. Could you tell me how to make a link within the article. for instance if i wanted to make the name "Jason Caffey" a link, how would i do that? Also i think you put the wrong link for the High School in the box on the right.

Thanks again. Peter

Tonga rugby

Just wondering what the go is with the capitalization and moving of the page Tonga national rugby league team to Tonga National Rugby League Team? Did a discussion happen that i'm unaware of? Cheers-Tiburon 01:29, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey there

After visiting your userpage I have two things to say:

  1. You're doing some good work on Newpage patrol right now, however I noticed you tagged The Religion of ZK as patent nonsense. I completely sympathise that this is 99% likely to be a hoax, but if you read Wikipedia:Patent nonsense and the description given on the CSD page, you'll see it specifies that patent nonsense does not include: poorly written material, partisan screeds, implausible theories or hoaxes. If a page doesn't meet any criteria for speedy deletion but you believe it should be deleted, the best idea is to use WP:PROD. Just thought I'd point that out!
  2. I've fixed the Wikimedia Commons link on your userpage for you. For reference, the code to use is [[commons:pagename]]. Have a nice day and keep up the good work. - Zeibura S. Kathau (Info | Talk) 01:33, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
(cross-post from User talk:Zeibura) The proper tag was CSD A7, there was no assertation of notability nor any attempt to provide sources. I deleted it as such. Hope that helps! Teketalk 01:46, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Tarek

Hello, well I have seen dozens of articles of only one line, why is mine removed? For instance, there are a lot of football clubs that only have one line, I thought make a start and somebody else will develop it further Waterloo1974 10:15, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Adelaide Aglietta

I came across the aforementioned article, Adelaide Aglietta and saw you had requested a speedy delete. I did a Google Search and she came up with more than 16,000+ results as well as having an entry on the Italian Wikipedia. I placed a {hangon} tag to the page and listed some external sources to verify her notability as well. --Ozgod 13:52, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

I completely understand. I've made a few speedy delete noms that I regretted later. I just came across her page, saw it was tagged for Speedy Delete and gave her a google search. I am awaiting to see if the admin will revert it and then {prod} it. --Ozgod 17:41, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

inuse

Hi Curran H. Today, I had just started the creation of a new article (Aviatik B.II) when you slapped a CSD notice on it six minutes after its creation, and while there was an inuse tag showing. If an article is marked as inuse, please do not edit it, let alone mark it for speedy! If you're in any doubt, the courteous thing to do is to leave a note on the contributor's talk page if it looks like the article may have been abandoned with its inuse tag still showing (which after six minutes would be very premature anyway). Dear CurranH:

I did not think my Steven Hyde addition was vandalism. I only added it because I thought it further illustrated the point of Hyde preferring to be a lazy stoner, and feeling very uncomfortable at admitting to getting a job and acting responsibly. I had no malicious intent in adding it; I have made additions to a number of articles ranging from Fred Flintstone to various Sherlock Holmes articles to Sleepwalker, none of which have, to my knowledge, been reverted. I understand and accept the reversions to the Hulk article, given the copyright issues, but I do not understand how the Hyde change can be construed as vandalism. If you feel it must remain the way it is, I understand, although I do not see how it could be considered vandalism.

Reverting vandalism

Hi, Bobo192,

I just wanted to personally thank you for fixing the vandalism on my talk page!! I was out of town for a week and my internet has been down, and this is the first time I've been able to get on in several weeks :-(

Again, thank you very much!

Hi there. Good to see you back after a week away. Yes, vandals have been busy hacking away at user and user talk pages at a great rate lately. Reverting them is just part of the job. All the best. Bobo. 18:45, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Please Explain

I have commited vandalism? I changed something on Wikipedia, that was incorrect.

Please explain why what I changed was vandalism.

Blink-182

I have taken your advice and signed up under "Rollin1989"

The change I made was the first change I have ever made to Wikipedia, and the reason I did it was that the album being self-titled, (because it says Blink-182 on the cover) is a very common mistake, which I wanted to correct.

Most fan sites quote it as being self-titled, but I can get you websites, which have all 3 band members both referring to it as untitled, and explaining why,

Thanks

Rollin1989

Firstly:

www.lyricsfreak.com/b/blink+182/biography.html

Another thing I have noticed since browsing.

The band Ademas singles are have no information posted about them.

I would be happy to create pages for there singles, as I know quite a bit about the videos and origins of the singles, but I would like to ask why it hasn't already been done first?

Thanks for the compliment!

I'll take note of all the rules. I do want to try and take what I do here seriously. I hope one day, to become an administrator, (a long road ahead of me, I know) and want to try and learn about how things are done here.

I will be installing Firefox, so I will be vigilant against vandilism as soon as I have twinkle.

Again, thanks, and hope to see you around soon.

Oh, and, yeah, I thought I might not be allowed lyrics, but I gave it a shot anyway.

Am I allowed to post lyrics from an external site?

Thanks

Since you reccomended that Twinkle thing... I'm having some trouble installing it. I'm not sure whats meant by my monobook.js?

Thanks for any help you can give me

Thanks

Thank you, I'm still learning about all this stuff!

I've got twinkle working so thanks a lot for the help!

as for the lyrics, I mean posting a link to an external site with the lyrics posted on it.

Thanks

Hi Curran, I try to monitor the updates made by 194.63.116.72(Talk) I noticed that you reverted the above update and were quick to call it vandalism. You also added a "welcome vandal" message on the talk page. There was no need to call it vandalism. If you'd read the talk page you may have noticed the large shared IP template and welcome message which kind of make your statements redundant. Please remember to Assume Good Faith, especially with shared IP's as regardless of the number of edits made, as each one could be someone's first. --Phydaux 21:45, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello

I'm the guy who removed a large chunk of text from Caveman earlier today, I did it under the anonymity of an IP simply because I had forgotten to log in on this machine. I'd like to point out that the text I removed was itself vandalism, and that every edit that user had made was vandalism to various pages with the running theme of Manchester United. It has subsequently been "re-reverted" and removed from Caveman by a completely separate user. Just remember: just because a line of text is long, doesn't mean it has merit. No hard feelings. Glad to know I haven't made an enemy. Cheers.

About Image:Truck crane.jpg

Hi! I was wondering if this crane is also at Commons somewhere? If You know anything about the crane (like manufacturer, owner, lifting capacity, eventually just what city You were in...), it would be lovely to have that added. G®iffen 21:25, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Assessing Schools

I see you did some in June....Thanks! interested in helping more? Victuallers 19:51, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Thx for reply. Well done. Would be good if you only added the schools template as educ template is really for talk about teaching etc. I amended Talk:South Christian High School ... if you could leave some (lots?) in your area like this then it would encourage them maybe to do a bit more. Thanks for your help. I looked at your contribs .... wanting to be an admin? 08:30, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

USAF Collaboration?

Hey - I'm usually the one putting up skeleton pages for USAF wings, groups and squadrons. Since I've got my work to do, I usually don't have enough time to fill in the gaps, if you will. Are you interested in helping out? You've done a great job on fixing the images I've uploaded, and I'm impressed by your desire (at a young age) to want to join the USAF. - No problems on when you can help out; I'm usually deployed or going "somewhere" for work, and I don't get many edits in for months on end. Right now I'm taking PDF wing logos and placing them on pages as PNG images. I think they should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, but I don't have time to upload the images... Other than that feel free to add info on jets, bases, or whatever on any of the wing pages... thnx TDRSS 17:09, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
