What I learned on[edit]
- Olympus mju-600 The camera that started it all. No real creativity with this camera, just snapshots.
- Fujifilm FinePix S5200 First upgrade. Second-hand. I thought this what a digital SLR was like. How wrong I was. Captured some really cool photos with it though.
- Olympus E-520 My first real digital SLR. Even though the features were plentiful for a learner, the Four Thirds sensor size really let this camera down. Sold to support myself through university.
- Canon EOS 40D My first Canon, bought second hand after reading a lot about Canon digital SLRs and considering what I could afford as a uni student back on my feet. Not only did it take great photos, it helped me earn a small living whilst studying at university. It was often paired with the Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD, and a battery grip which served me well for a lot of years.
- Canon EOS 5D Bought second hand (actually, I think third hand) the 5D was my first encounter will full-frame photography. It was a definite step-up from the 40D, and a leap from the Olympus E-520 I used to own and love. Though, it meant I had to ditch some of my EF-S lenses.
- Canon EOS 5D Mark II I didn't have this camera for very long, only purchasing it second hand to fill a backup/alternate lens role at an important event I was covering. I quickly sold it on after it was finished, though would've kept it if I didn't have my 6D Mark II.

- Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM Really great all-rounder, even if the darker aperture sucked in low-light situations.
- Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM My first 'L'. This lens was a lot of fun to use, and worked well with my 40D, and 5D.
- Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
- Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM
- Samyang AF 14mm f/2.8 UMC II The lens that introduced me to ultra-wide. Decent bright ultra-wide prime lens for the cost!
