Hi My name is Terry Carrick. I currently live in Worksop Nottinghamshire where I have resided with my wife Mary for the past 20 years. I was born at Aspatria, Cumberland (now Cumbria) in 1947 and continued to live in the community until 1992 when through employment neccessities I relocated to the Sheffield area. Before my early retirement in 2009 I worked for an engineering contracting company and in this capacity travelled extensively throughout many regions of the world. Although an engineer I have always taken a deep interest in History and historical matters; local, national and international. In 2007 I was awarded a Ph.D. from Sheffield Hallam University, which I received under the supervision of Professor Peter Caine, a recognised authority on British anti-imperialism. My subject matter was Sir Wilfrid Lawson, 2nd Baronet, of Brayton with particular reference to his attitudes and opinions towards Britains Foreign and Imperialist policy. I have also written and published a book on the subject of the history of Aspatria RUFC.
