August 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Elizium23. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Paris Herouni, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Elizium23 (talk) 22:59, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The content you added was copied from another website, and thus was a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Please don't add copyright material to Wikipedia. — Diannaa (talk) 14:42, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your addition to Orgov Radio-Optical Telescope has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. Thanks for your edits to Orgov Radio-Optical Telescope, it looks like the info would be useful, but copyright violations/copy-pastes aren't. It's better to provide the URL as a reference, and to rephrase the content into the article. I couldn't find much when I started the article, if you can point out URLs where more info is available then I'd be happy to help expand the article. Thanks. I will be impressed if this editor speaks English. (The text was machine-translated and added to the Armenian and Russian Wikipedias as well.) Elizium23 (talk) 18:17, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm happy for them to reply in any language / խնդրում եմ պատասխանեք ձեր լեզվով. Google Translate is good. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 18:19, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:SPEAKENGLISH, it is appropriate to communicate in English on this project, so that we all may participate. Machine translation does a poor job (like his addition to the telescope article), and it may lead to further misunderstandings. Elizium23 (talk) 19:21, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your intervention here, but it's better to avoid language barriers if possible, and as you just said, "I will be impressed if this editor speaks English". Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 19:58, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
