Hello, I'm Bill william compton. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Tower Bridge because it didn't appear constructive. This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Sofia imamia noorbakshia, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://nympakistan.webs.com/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Your username[edit]

Please see below and consider adding Latin text to your signature Brookie :) { - he's in the building somewhere!} (Whisper...) 13:27, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Usernames with non-Latin characters

See also: Wikipedia:Signatures#Non-Latin

There is no requirement that usernames be in English. Furthermore, contributors are welcome to use usernames that are not spelled using the Latin alphabet, but should bear in mind that scripts of non-Latin languages (such as Arabic, Cyrillic, Chinese, Greek or Japanese) are illegible to most contributors to the English Wikipedia, and sometimes the characters may not appear correctly. To avoid confusion and aid navigation, users with such usernames are encouraged to use Latin characters in their signature.

Thanks for the note - if you go the Preferences tab at the top of your user pages you can enter details there in the signature box - for instance mine says:

<span style="text-shadow:#194D00 0.2em 0.2em 0.2em" class="texhtml"><font color="#000888">Brookie :) { - he's in the building somewhere!} </font> (Whisper...)</span> - but you can make it straight forward!

Brookie :) { - he's in the building somewhere!} (Whisper...) 11:26, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

For example, you could change yours to: M. Afzal (talk)
This would appear as M. Afzal (talk)
The "talk" link would work on other pages; it just looks unlinked on this page because it's the same page.
Hope this helps! – Fayenatic London 13:24, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Mir Najumuddin Saqib has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Probable hoax? The two works claimed to have been written are not mentioned anywhere else on the web according to google. I'm not seeing any matches in http://viaf.org/ or other searches. I'm happy to withdraw the PROD if someone identifies this person in http://viaf.org/; comes up with an ISBN of a book by them; or similar.

Edit on Chalunka Article[edit]

Hi, this is regarding the edits you made to Chalunka page. While I understand you are probably familiar with the geography of the area, the language used was definitely biased eg. "Indian aggression of 1971" instead on the regular "1971 Indo-Pak War". Also, regarding the edit changing the country doing the shelling from "Pakistan" to "India", you have not cited any refs. I also fail to understand that if Indian forces control the area (as implied by the article), why would they be shelling it? Mycrofth (talk) 22:44, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Now read it Chalunka is a small village in the Shyok River valley, which was on the India-Pakistan border until 1971 when Indian colonel Chewang Rinchen raised the Nubra river valley guards from local men and captured considerable territory along the valley until they got near the village Turtuk where the present border is today. The village was subsequently and frequently heavily shelled by Pakistan does it meets to wiki standards--Baltistani (talk) 06:33, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for adding information about the Ancient history of Gilgit-Baltistan. Do you know that there is another article called History of Gilgit-Baltistan, which has precious little information? Perhaps you can move your material there and, once it is finished, we can summarise it in the Gilgit-Baltistan article? (It is nevertheless good to have a single copy until the material is finished.) RS[edit]

WP:RS means "reliable source" and is shorthand for the policy that determines what a reliable source is. You can read the document at that link. More specifically, I was referring to WP:SOURCE, which is the section that talks about what counts as a reliable source. We aim for scholarly analysis rather than blog entries or original source material. The material you added was dubious and the citations were to random blogs: search books.google.com or similar media (Wikipedia has recommendations for finding material, check the Teahouse) to find reliable sourcing.

Your contributions claim rather significant things and yet you can only find the following as "citations"?

 • Brigets bike. "The Baltistan village of Turtuk, Ladakh".
 • "Q&A: Kashmir dispute". BBC News. Retrieved 10 April 2015.
 • "10 Most Amazing Glaciers Outside Polar Regions". Wonder list.

BBC is probably weakly acceptable - but the rest is obviously going to be available in scholarly works so there's no way we should ever use "wonderslist.com" or "bridgetsbikeblog".

Also, if I might add: your writing is atrocious. You actually piped Silk Road to a misspelled form, "Silk Rout" (sic) at one point. I understand English isn't everyone's first language, and hurrah for that, but free programs like OpenOffice should at least allow you to run spellcheck and grammar checks. You don't even use spaces after punctuation and you capitalise words seemingly randomly. We have to be at least comprehensible to our readers. Ogress smash! 06:36, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Khwaja Hasan Nizami[edit]

Hello محمد افضل,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Khwaja Hasan Nizami for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Suman420 (talk) 08:30, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Urdu romantic fiction writers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for four days or more and it is not presently under discussion at Categories for discussion, or at disambiguation categories.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. – Fayenatic London 20:27, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of 2015 Attock Suicide Attack[edit]

Hello محمد افضل,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged 2015 Attock Suicide Attack for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Nrwairport (talk) 00:41, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about 2015 Attock Suicide Attack[edit]

Hello, محمد افضل,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether 2015 Attock Suicide Attack should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2015 Attock Suicide Attack .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Nrwairport (talk) 00:42, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Balti/Shina Wikipedia[edit]

Since you are from Gilgit-Baltistan, have you ever thought about creating a Balti Wikipedia or Shina Wikipedia on Wikimedia Incubator? The literature and online material available in these two languages is quite limited. Since you are from that area, I figure this may be something you might be interested in working on. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Revert[edit]

The reason why I reverted those links you added were because 1) you just simply scouted every article that had "Pakistan" linked under the "today part" section in the infobox and added them to the template 2) Most of those articles had simply no historical impact on the area, or extremely little 3) anything that was extremely little and had possibly something minor to do with the area is mentioned on the articles themselves.
This is simply tendentious editing, amongst which pure undue weight-pushing, and thats another reason why you were reverted. Some minor precise examples of this erroneous editing; Chobanids were thousands of kilometers away from the westernmost border of todays Pakistan. Qajar dynasty had absolutely no historical impact, and the same goes, for example, for the Aq Koyunlu, Buyid dynasty, Khwarazmian dynasty, Safavids, and Medes. Khilji dynasty, Mamluk Dynasty (Delhi) etc. are all covered under Delhi Sultanate. All those minor princely states are covered on the British Raj and Mughal Empire articles/related articles, and that minor information that could possibly be lacking about them, should be put on these latter two articles as well; they don't belong on a separate "History of Pakistan" template.
This template was formed with careful precision, and all articles that pertain to a historic entity which had a significant or noteworthy impact on the area, are already visible on it. Just imagine adding the Roman Empire to the "History of Russia" template, or the Ottoman Empire to the "History of Eritrea" template; that'd be ridiculous as well. Bests - LouisAragon (talk) 23:42, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@LouisAragon How would you say that those dynasties had no effect on today pakistan, The Chobanids who ruled on about 50% area of today pakistan has really nothing tod do with pakistani history?.

why You don,t eject the links of Indus valley civlization from templates of both india and Afghanistan ( as there is no large impact on their history than pakistan). Khiljis were resposible for startin Khiraj (tax) in south asia that is even still in operation in many areas of pakistan. Perso-Arabic inscriptions on monuments in pakistan and india have been traced to the Khilji dynasty era.

whats about those links that were the local rulers and dynasties like bahawalpur princly state ,swat and baluchistan etc that you have undid.Baltistani (talk) 05:03, 23 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A comment on LouiseAragon's talk page directed me to this page. I think if mainstream opinion among historians is that Median Empire or Chupanids are part of Pakistan's history, then I think adding them to the template is not a bad idea. But the problem is most of those dynasties are not considered part of Pakistan's history by mainstream historians. Pakistan is actually a modern country and its history starts from 20th century onward, before that, there was no Pakistan and that region was considered a part of Iran or India. The Roman and Ottoman examples are also significant IMO. -- Kouhi (talk) 14:10, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
basically Wikipedia is aimed for knowledge by saying that Pakistan is a new country and had no history will be unjust. Many people would strongly want to know about the land that today constitutes Pakistan that is why we add even the very earliest arrival of humans in the section of history in every country,s article whatever is the current arena.

But i think i should accept that that should be some eradication and for that user @LouisAragon should ought to mention links which he strongly thinks should be remove but removing all is really unfair.--Baltistani (talk) 15:30, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I accept what you said here, "contrary the sources […] the numbers here are shown very high". However, I am not going to edit List of highest-grossing Pakistani films anytime soon, until it is being protected by those unsourced users. M. Billoo 20:20, 7 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnologue editions[edit]

Thank you for updating the speaker numbers. Just one idea though: when citing ethnologue, it will be helpful to state which edition you're using. One advantage is that it allows to track articles that cite really old versions of ethnologue, so we could go back and update them. On ethnologue, you can see the edition right at the bottom of each page. But you don't need to check that now: all pages there are of this year's edition, which is the 22nd. A shortcut that you can use for this edition is e22. For example, plk will produce the following citation:

Kohistani Shina at Ethnologue (22nd ed., 2019) Closed access icon.
