Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Hari (Afghanistan), without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. HistoryofIran (talk) 16:40, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just trying to fix what it should be, there is no Hari river in Afghanistan, it's Herat, the name is used for Herat City, Herat Province, Herat International Airport, etc. It's always been officially known as Herat, not Hari. (هراتا (talk) 16:44, 29 December 2022 (UTC))[reply]
Sources like Iranica state otherwise. Prove it in the talk page of Hari (Afghanistan) then. See WP:CONSENSUS. --HistoryofIran (talk) 16:50, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless of what you think should or should not be, doing a copy-paste move is almost always the absolute wrong way to do it. For any move that is remotely controversial, you should use the process outlined at WP:RM. Also, since you are new here and immediately jumped into doing things wrong, I strongly encourage you to take the tutorial. UtherSRG (talk) 17:23, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a copy-paste, I use the move page option. (هراتا (talk) 17:25, 29 December 2022 (UTC))[reply]
I can see plainly that you did not. UtherSRG (talk) 17:26, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. --HistoryofIran (talk) 16:50, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@HistoryofIran: The article is about the river in Afghanistan, not Iran. Why would a river in Afghanistan have to following naming system in Iran? it's Herat not Hari! Stop pushing your non-sense POV. I'll give resolution to add local name in Iranian, but don't recklessly redirect it to Hari, because there's no such thing as Hari River in Afghanistan! (هراتا (talk) 16:57, 29 December 2022 (UTC))[reply]
Pretty rich of you to accuse me of pov-pushing when you have zero sources to back ur statement up and all of your edits have been an attempt to change the name through sheer force. Since you didnt bother to start a discussion, I did it for you [1] --HistoryofIran (talk) 16:59, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring, as you did at Hari (Afghanistan). Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  UtherSRG (talk) 17:24, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

@UtherSRG: It's a river in Afghanistan, why would a river belongs to Afghanistan (and Turkmenistan) have to follows the naming system of Iran? The User:HistoryofIran pushing his POV just because he is from Iran! none of Afghani or Turkmen called it that way! it's Herat not Hari! Just because there is a poor district called Harirud Rural District in Iran, it doesn't mean the river in Afghanistan named as Hari! The city of Herat, the Herat Province, the Herat International Airport are all named after the Herat River! Not ridiculous hARi, duh. Also, I didn't do copy-paste, you can see both articles contained different wording. هراتا (talk) 17:32, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You are blocked for violating WP:EW but don't address this in your unblock request. Yamla (talk) 17:54, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
